Wells Fargo Banking Services RE: Wells Fargo Bank Tellers/Manager Treated me Like a Fraudulent Criminal Today I had gone into Wells Fargo to cash my pay check, which was in the amount of $1,408.00 dollars. The bank teller had written on my pay check, h= ad me sign the back and apply my right thumb print on the front. The company who=20= I work for bank at Wells Fargo; however, I do not. Therefore, the banker requested that I provide a second piece of identification. I submitted my s= tudent I. D. card. She then told me that a student I.D. was not sufficient. I tol= d her that I always use my student I.D. card as a second form of identification. She then had told me to hold on and left me waiting so thatshe could confirm student I.D. were official. Her manager told her, "Yes; a student I= .D. can be used". The Teller then had asked, "How so? It does not even have an expiration date." The manager told her that it was ok. The teller had then=20= scanned closely with her eyes looking at my California Driver=E2=80=99s License; af= terwards, she had picked up my student I.D. and scanned over it, looking very closely= . She then had ran my paycheck through the machine as if she was finally abou= t to cash it; but, instead, she began typing in data on her computer system and then she had looked over my paycheck very closely. She then had called=20= her manager and told her that she was going to call the company that I work for= to verify the pay check. Today is Saturday and the company=E2=80=99s office=20is closed. The teller had called the attention of two managers and they both had come back to the window (from where I was standing and waiting) and told me that=20= they were not going to be able to cash my check. I busted in tears of frustration because they had me waiting for approximately 25 minutes, they h= ad wrote all over my paycheck, embarrassed me by making me feel like I was doing something fraudulent, and then tell me that they were not going to complete=20= the process to cash my check. I then had told them, =E2=80=9CNow, how am I suppo= se to cash my paycheck if you wrote all over it?!=E2=80=9D The manager responded and sa= id, =E2=80=9CI don=E2=80=99 t know, all I know is that we were unable to verify it.=E2=80=9D I told her= , =E2=80=9CThe next time you feel the need to discriminate against someone by refusing service to that person, make sure that you perform your reviews for verific= ation first, before you decide to write all over their property!=E2=80=9D The man= ager told me, =E2=80=9CI have done nothing wrong, do not come back here to our bank a= gain!=E2=80=9D I am a single mother of two children. After what they had done to me, I was= unsuccessful in cashing my check anywhere else today. My last stop was Wal Mart. An Associate at Wal Mart had told me that she always have customers who com= e from Wells Fargo who try to cash their check at Wal Mart after, wells Fargo= refused to process them; but, Wal Mart will not cash them after Wells Fargo= have written all over them. This Bank need to know that it is not ok for them to mark all over people's= property and then refuse to provide them with service. I would not be as upset, had they done the review to verify the check before witting all overit. Sincerely, Thalassa D.
