I recently purchased a Compaq V6310US laptop. Within two weeks the =

computer began to shut off randomly. I contacted Compaq's tech support =

and after a couple attempts at troubleshooting the problem, it was =

determined that the computer would have to be sent out for repair. They =

quoted a five day turnaround upon receipt. About 7 days after they =

received the computer, I got a call stating that it was all repaired and =

being shipped back to me. At this point I am very pleased with the =

whole experience. A week goes by and I have not received my computer. =

I contact tech support and they inform me that the computer is still at =

the facility and will not ship for another two weeks. They offered no =

explanation as to why someone would call earlier. Two more weeks go by =

and still no computer. I contact again and am told it will be another =

week. Needless to say the computer did not arrive. I was then told =

that the computer was being held up for one of the following: parts, =

shipping or other reasons beyond HP's control. A total non-answer. the =

support tech who knows nothing other than what is in front of his screen =

and has no ability to go beyond that is of no use and refers my case to =

"Advanced Tech Support" Maybe this guy has a phone. Unfortunately, he =

must not because he has never called. My next action was to advise them =

that in three days I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and =

after that filing a claim in small claims court. All of this because a =

customer wants to know the status of his computer. I am told now that =

my case is being referred to the "Regional" customer support manager. =

My guess is they lost the computer based on the first phone call. Moral =

of the story: Don't buy Compaq with the expectation they will support =

you. Six weeks into a 5 day turn I have no computer, a purchase bill I =

have to pay and no expectation that anyone will step up and solve the =

problem.
