Neumann Homes

We bought a home from Neumann Homes in Dec of 2004. The home it self is

beautiful. But…We have had 1 thing after another with the builder, Neumann

Homes. Right from the beginning. The first was: we had a 1 year new home

guarantee. At which time they(Neumann) would fix anything that went wrong.

Well it was like pulling teeth. We had nail pops, paint chip etc….Things we

expected. But we also had a problem with our front porch. There was a big

crack on it. Well after about 4 months of going back and forth they finally

came out and “PAINTED” it. Not a good idea. Which we tried to tell them. In

the first month it chipped off. Again after fighting with them for months,

they had a cement guy come out and finally took care of the problem.

Now, we go to put up a fence, just to start the battle once again. I spoke

to a rep from Neumann long before ( 3 weeks to be exacta) asking them about

the property lines. The reason I called was our next door neighbor was

having issues with them on the same subject. The rep told me “ Oh don’t

worry about it, tell your fence guys to bring a metal detector. They will

find the property lines. They are all stacked out” 3 weeks later, the fence

people come out. Guess what ? No stakes! My husband tells them that we were

told by Neumann that all they needed was metal detectors. The fence guys

then called their boss out thinking that maybe their equipment did not work.

They ended up bringing 3 metal detectors out. Never found them…… I called

Neumann just to have the same rep I dealt with in the past tell me “ Well if

your fence guys are that lazy they can not look at the plat of survey, then

that is not my fault!”. I tried to explain, to no avail. I then asked for

her bosses name. By the way, I new where this was going, so I put her on

speaker phone. 2 other people heard the conversation. I emailed her boss. He

called me back and basically said the same thing. “ IT IS NOT NEUMANN’S

FAULT IF THE STAKES ARE NOT THERE! YOU MUST HAVE REMOVED THEM!” Well I

contacted the originally land surveyors and they informed me that they did

indeed do the survey. They put in WOOD stakes and told Neumann to contact

them after the house was built, knowing that they – NEUMANN would remove

them or even pound they to far into the ground due to the building of the

house!. They also told Neumann that it would be extra money because they

would have to come back out. Neumann NEVER called them to put the metal

stakes in.

I do understand that some people would think that this complaint is crazy.

How ever it has been one thing after another with Neumann . If the first rep

would have told me that it is our responsibility not theirs, things would

have been so different.

The bottom line of this builder is once they have you in, IT IS OVER !

It is the principle of the matter. I think all new home buyers should know

this. Our sub division has a web site. There is complaint after complaint

about Neumann not addressing issues. Issues that were within the “ 1YEAR”

that is still open.

It is a shame to have spent the money we did ( We thought these were better

homes) and can’t even get a straight answer from them. And, never could……

So, future buyers……..BEWARE…..If I would have known then what I know now, we

would not be in a NEUMANN HOME!

I have documentation from the beginning of time with them.
