I purchased a 3 yr gym membership at the Raleigh LaGrange French Riviera insummer 2006. FILTHY club, but there were other locations available, so I h=

oped for a clean one (NOT!) In Oct 2006 I purchased a personal trainer cont=

ract-terms 3x a week, for a year. It was a good situation for a month. I ha=

d lost 53 pounds that year & was 7 pounds away from my Weight Watchers goalat thanksgiving. The ENTIRE month of December Ben Benfield, the trainer di=

d not show up for any of his appointments, but my American Express card wasstill charged. And charged for the next 6 months there were no trainers co=

nsistently available. I talked with the managers, owners, paramount (who LY=

ING told me they didn't handle the contract anymore!)


Feb2, 2007 I sent a letter requesting a refund for FRAUD and to cancel the =

contract. No response.


Aug 26, 2007 I sent a certified letter that Joe Stewart (French Riviera per=

sonal trainer director) and Samantha at corporate Paramount admitted receiv=

ing. I requested confirmation in writing of the cancel & A REFUND FOR THE L=

ACK OF ABILITY FOR FRENCH RIVIERA TO COMPLETE THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT. Sh=

e said l"ooks like a 30 day cancel" No action. Paramount phone operators ac=

ted stupid, asked stupid questions (Did you want to cancel your tanning?)


Aug 28 Erin at Paramount fumbled for 10 minutes until saying my letter wentto the review board.


You bet I will call every day until this is resolved. And act on an attorne=

ys advise. And I filed a BBB complaint (they aren't members, IMAGINE! and h=

ave had hundreds of complaints in the past 3 years)


PLEASE READ THIS before you make the mistake-DO NOT JOIN FRENCH RIVIERA, no=

r any other gym that uses Paramount. They're dirty, disrespectful with NO H=

ONESTY, nor integrity. Ptew!
