I would encourage everyone to read the entire post. If you are in a hurry, the summary of it is that, Dasaprakash Indian Restaurant owner Madhu is really rude who would not respect his customers. If you want to try a new Indian restaurant, then do not go to Dasaprakash. There are a lot of fine Indian restaurants in the bay area where you don't have to go through a lot of hassle. We went to Dasaprakash restaurant for dinner in the bay area (Santa Clara). The reason for picking this was because we had been to most other Indian restuarants in the bay area and we wanted to try something new.
We were a group of 8 poeple. Everyone ordered what they wanted from the menu. While the food was not extra ordinarily good compared to some of the other restaurants, it was ok to visit once. We then received the bill. A couple of my friends wanted to pay the bill, but I wanted to give everyone a treat , so I picked the bill and paid with my credit card. By doing so, I did not go throught the entire bill. We got back home late that night and to my surprise I found out that we were charged extra. The extra charge is for 3 butter milks. Tax including, this came to an extra $10 in bill.
I called Dasaprakash (owner's name is Madhu) the next morning and explained that I was over charged. He said he was busy and put me on hold for more than 10 mins. I dropped the call and again called after 30 mins. This time he replied in a rude manner and asked me not to disturb him as he was busy and that he will call me back. He did not call me back, so I called him back again after another 1 hour. I said that I am from Sacramento and I am leaving in the next 10 mins and I wanted to settle this issue. This time he took the credit card number and said the refund will be processed in the evening.
One week went by and I did not see the refund on my card. I called him again, and he took the card number again. Another week went by and still no refund on the card. I called again and again gave the credit card number. He again said that it will be processed that everning. I did not get the refund. 2 months passed by. I called him again and explained that I was incorrectly charged and I am still waiting for the refund. This time he laughed that I was calling for a refund for extra charge of butter milks. Whatever the item is, it is still worth $10 and there is no reason for me to give it away free. I gave the credit card number again and he said it cannot be processed until the night. I reminded that I called him several times before and asked if it is possible for him to process it immediately. He then riduculed by saying that if I understand English, I should hang up the phone and the refund cannot be processed until that night.
As of today, I did not get the refund processed. I am posting this complaint so it would help other poeple in choosing a restaurant in the bay area.
