Electronics malfunctions after 12 months of use.

This model DVD recorder is a disposable item. After approx. 12 months of use on the household level it simply stops working. When a disc is loaded into the tray you will get an error message on the screen: Either "NO DISC" OR "INVALID DISC", no matter what media you put into it, whether that be commercial DVD's (movies from, say, Blockbuster) or discs previously recorded on the machine itself.

I've read multiple complaints from owners of this particular machine and they all report the exact same problem. One mentioned that two of his friends experienced the same: After twelve months, the machine goes PLUNK!

How LITE-ON manages to make this happen right after the warranty expires, is still a mystery!

Conclusion: Don't buy LITE-ON.
