Cobbly Nob Rentals

Cobbly Nob Rentals rents cabins and other lodging around the Gatlinburg, =

TN

area. Twice within the past year, we have rented properties from them =

that

are substandard in appearance, but this complaint centers around a

reservation we booked with them this week.

Consumers can book cabins online at their website, HYPERLINK

"http://www.cobblynob.net/"www.cobblynob.net Their site is not set up =

to

put in what type of lodging you need and when you need it and then =

receive

available lodging options. A consumer has to look at each property

individually to see if it is available for rental. After looking =

through

all of the 2 bedroom properties (which were not available during the =

time

period we needed), we moved to the 3-bedroom properties. After spending

much time looking, we found a 3-bedroom property, booked it online for =

the

nights of Oct 26-27, paid the deposit online via credit card, and =

received

an e-mail confirmation from the company for this reservation.

The next day after making the reservation, my husband received a call =

from

Cobbly Nob saying that we would have to book for 3 nights instead of 2. =

My

husband explained that we could not come for 3 nights, that we were =

coming

with another couple, and that the site had no such requirement on it, =

and,

furthermore, that the website allowed us to book, and we had received a

confirmation!

The company insisted that we stay three nights, saying that their right =

to

require this third night was in their policy statement, which is the =

wordy,

fine print that a consumer has to agree to. We maintain that this

requirement should have been easily observable on the site and, further,

that the site should not have allowed us to book if there was a =

requirement

for 3 nights.

This is a perfect example of the horrible customer service of this =

company.

We had spent hours of our time on an unfriendly website and finally made

this reservation, only to be told it was all a waste.

I hope this complaint keeps someone else from wasting their time with =

Cobbly

Nob. We will never do business with them again.
