Capital One Personal Loans - Scam to run credit and give you false hope

Capital One Personal Loans - Scam to run credit and give you false hope I applied for a personal loan on 7/24/07. They responded by telling me that I needed to provide identity due to having Fraud Alert on my credit. I sent the information in as they requested and patiently waited. Unknown to me, on the same day I sent the information they had sent me a letter telling me I was denied due to lack of identity. I went away on business the next day and when I returned 15 days I found the denial letter dated the same day I sent the request. So they didn't even give me a chance to send them the info. Since the departments within Capital One obviously don't communicate with each other, they had not clue that this request was made by them and I complied, like a good little girl. I sent another letter on September 12, 2007 pleading for them to look at my personal documents again (SSN, Paystub, Birth Certificate) which were received by them on September 13, 2007. I called on September 18, 2007 and Roberta a customer service agent in the Loan Status department told me that I had been denied $15,000 but if I accept $10,000 the application would be reviewed again and I should received the check within 10days. Today is September 27, 2007 and I called because I had not received anything and I wanted to know where the check was. I spoke to the first agent at 1-800-903-9177 prompt 3 who told me that she couldn't see the status and needed to transfer me to another department. I then spoke to another agent who told me that I should have received it already, then I spoke to another agent by the name of Sandra in the Loan Status department who gave me the best news ever "YOUR LOAN WAS DENIED ON 7/24/07", I was beside myself because she had no record of any of my calls, document submission or anything. I advised her that this couldn't be because I sent in the information. She then said, "Well we all work off of different systems, so we all don't have the same information". I asked her to give me the number of the department who does know my status because I've spoken to 5 agents before her and obviously no one knows anything. So I finally spoke to Richard at the number I originally dialed and at prompt 2. Richard was able to tell me that "I WAS DENIED" but now it wasn't because of my identity but because I have too many revolving cards, inquiries, and high balances". Even though I wasn't happy with his news, I finally got someone who told me the reason they denied me this time. This reason I didn't like, but I accepted it because it's true. I do have a lot of credit cards and this is the reason for the loan request. I was trying to consolidate my credit so that I can only have 1 credit card. This was ridiculous, the time spent, the aggravation, the misinformation, the lack of customer service, the lack of compassion, and the lack of what I feel I deserve; respect, was terrible. I have a CAPITAL ONE credit card which I will pay off and close the account. I refuse to give my money to a Credit Card provider who has no one's interest at heart but their own. I work as a Supervisor in a Call Center and if I treated my customers this way, we would be bankrupt and I would be out of a job. This was the worst experience of my whole credit life and at this point, I would rather pay 100% interest to a loan shark than 0% interest to Capital One and their unprofessional way to handle their customers. CAPITAL ONE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST I'VE EVER HAD TO EXPERIENCE.
