Food Service at University of Pittsburgh, Titusville, Pa As parents, we pay a flat fee for room and board, which specifies a certain number of meals for a student per week. If a student misses meals during the week, or on a weekend, there may be six or more meals left on the last day which may be unused, but for which the parent has prepaid. The food service on the campus of Pitt, Titusville will not allow a student to go though the cafeteria more than once during a meal period. Even if there are unused meals left on the last day, a student is not even permitted to get a cookie or a bowl of ice cream in place of one of those unused meals. I called student affairs on the Titusville campus, I called the cafeteria director, I called Pitt main campus, I notified the Pittsburgh Press and I sent e-mails to every administrator I could find listed in the directory. It seems that on the main campus, students may use the cafeteria whenever they please, and may go as often as six times a day to use up their meals at the end of the week. I received no reasonable response to my complaint that I had paid for meals that were not eaten, and my child could not use the meal for any type of food at all. My daughter is a nursing student, who is off campus quite often because of hospital clinicals and should be allowed to eat whenever and as often as she can find the time. I PAID FOR THE FOOD!! =20 Andrea Lacy STMS From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Wednesday, 26-Sep-07 07:05:25 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
