Best Buy Purchase, Best Buy Sucks

Best Buy Purchase, Best Buy Sucks

On September 8 I purchased and paid for in full a $1,400 LG refrigerator =

from Best Buy on sale. Because it was out of stock the delivery was to =

be September 24. Having waited most of the morning to hear about the =

delivery, at 11:00 AM on Sept. 24 I called Best Buy to find out what =

time the delivery would be made to be told the new delivery date was =

Oct. 12. I spoke with the assistant manager Alan who said he would look =

into it. At 3:30 the sales associate called me to say nothing could be =

done, delivery was now Oct.12. I went to Home Depot and asked about the =

availability,of that model which was not on sale and they showed me in =

their computer that there were 12 in the LG warehouse in Orlando, 90 =

miles from Tampa. I also called Best Buy's customer service department =

and explained the whole thing to a customer service person and again to =

a customer service supervisor who said they could do nothing. I shared =

the fact that there were 12 refrigerators in the LG warehouse in Orlando =

with the sales person at Best Buy who said they would escalate the =

inquiry to expedite it and I should have an answer in 24 hours. The =

next day, not hearing from anyone I went to the Best Buy store to learn =

the sales person who was to call me was in training for the week. I =

spoke with the Asst. Manager Alan who said they didn't have access to =

the refrigerators in the LG warehouse in Orlando and the only thing that =

could be done was to give me a loaner refrigerator. =20

It is impossible to convey in writing the total lack of interest by Best =

Buy to resolve the problem. They just don't care.

I bought a $1600 Sony flat screen TV from Best Buy. Got it home and opened the box and it was broken. Best Buy refused to exchange it or give me my money back. They said call Sony. Sony said we don't do anything about broken TV's go to Best Buy. Finally after 2 days, someone at Best Buy corporate said they would exchange our TV and they said they'd give us 10% off for the trouble. What a relief....until they called back and said they could not exchange it as there was no proof that they did the damage.

So now, I'm stuck with a $1600 broken TV? Finally, after 4 days and several managers later. We did speak with someone who said they could exchange it for us. I did finally get my tv exchanged, but never got this 10% off and had to pay $70 to have it delivered. They did nothing to make up for the 4 days of major hassle. During this entire time, I had to bring the TV to them twice, listen to them say that we broke the TV, and that they would not have possibly sold a broken TV.

Do not buy anything from Best Buy, if you do, check the box before you walk out of the store.
