Toyota run on flats ridiculously expensive to repair
|
Toyota run on flats ridiculously expensive to repair problem #1 We have a Toyota Sienna 2004 AWD Van that does not include a spare tire. Instead, it uses Run on Flats. Which means when you get a flat you can drive 100 miles before having to seek help. The problem is that when you seek help it may take up to a week to receive from another dealership the replacement tire. And when you receive the replacement tire you will have to buy 2 tires according to Toyota. Since the purchase of our Sienna in 2004 we have replaced the whole set of tires once and have had to replace at two separate occasions 2 tires each because of nails in the tire (which can not be repaired on run on flats). I have already called Toyota with no solution to my problems. Problem #2 Question that I asked a Toyota representative: My family travels a lot each weekend because of sports activities. If we have a flat on the road 400 miles away on the weekend how do we get our tire replaced and get home without losing money from lose of time at work and losing time at school? The answer I got from Toyota representative was that "I guess you will have to find your own way home." Pleas advise me on how to get someone's attention about this situation. I can not afford to just replace this car or just take the chance I will not get a flat.
