I have had the same account for 4 years with the automatic withdrawal from my bank account. Two months ago I literally moved 100 yards. TWC states that there is no big deal to transfer services. WRONG! Just to ensure that there would be no problem during the move I first emailed TWC, using their system, to let them know of the move and to update all my information. This was two weeks prior to the move. A week went by and no replay so I called TWC. They had no clue, so I told them of the move date, change of type of service and to update other information. I was told that they would be there on my move in date.

Month 1

The day came and went, nothing. After a call to TWC I was told they could do it 2 days from the date the arranged. No sorry, no adjustment was made for their error. No real big deal to me.

Month 2

During the second month there was an interruption with service at my apartment and others at my complex. TWC was called and said they would be out in 2 hours. Great! 1 day goes by and TWC was called who stated that they knew nothing about it and decided that this was no big deal and scheduled to investigate the problem in 3 days. Also, none of my information or service type was updated. (I don't have the strength to write the hassle and length of time it took just to update my information and at the end they still did not update my service change.)

Month 3

My cable is interrupted. Do to a hectic schedule I did not inquire about this problem for 3 days. When I called TWC they said that I have not paid my bill for 2 months and they cut my service. Remember at the beginning I told you that for 4 years I have used automatic deduction and no paper bill. At NO time did TWC call my home, cell, work nor did they send a letter or email about no payment received. After 2 days of phone calls did they tell me that there was no card or bank account for my account. Let me remind you that my account did not change. The only thing that changed was my address. My service type was supposed to change but did not.

So, TWC messed up and would not credit my account or even take ownership of their error. I being the nice person that I am made a partial payment and service was restored. Still TWC stated that they were right and I who called many times, emailed, etc about the changes was wrong. During this process I was passed from person to person, some stated that there was no balance and others stated there was a balance due. There is no consistency. After I hounded TWC to speak to a supervisor did they state one would contact me within 24 hours. It has been 3 days and no call. In addition, there was no offer to adjust my account or apology for the HORRIBLE service provided by TWC.

My Resolution:

I told TWC that I am closing my account with them. The service is so bad I am going without TV until AT&T supplies their TV service to my area. This will be very soon.

So for this monopoly company (TWC) their slogan should read,

The Customer is Always Wrong.

In addition, after hearing my story and dealing with similar problems with Time Warner Cable (TWC) my friends and family state that they will be closing their accounts.

The incompetence...oh the incompetence. I will continue to share this story.

I hope your got your refund. I also went with ATT because of the problems from Time Warner and I can not get my refund. I call every couple of weeks and get the same story, they will send my check in 4 to 6 weeks!


Does anyone out there know which TV stations takes up this type of complaint? I would love to see them do a spot on Time Warner.
