Van Fleet Condo/ Ocean City Maryland

We rented a condo from Van Fleet in Ocean City, Maryland in June of 2007. =

The owner charges per person per week, not a flat rate. We paid approximate=

ly 250.00 per person for a week, and a cash deposit, upon arrival, of =

another one hundred dollars per person. It was a verbal understanding that =

upon departure of the condo, the cash deposit would be returned. Well, =

that never happened. There were problems in another unit, and the =

occupants were kicked out by Van Fleet. Because we were there that same =

week, he accused us of being involved with the other occupants. Our condo =

was in better condition, clean wise, upon leaving; there was not a speck =

of trash; all rooms were clean. We were not called on for disturbances and =

none of us were asked to leave. Mr Van Fleet KEPT ALL OF OUR CASH =

DEPOSITS. BEWARE of renting from him. The Better Business Bureau was =

notified, which he is NOT a member, and we could not get much done since =

he was not a member.

To this day, we are still waiting for our six hundred dollars. If you want =

to have fun in OC, beware of renting from Van Fleet Apartments. He might =

kick you out, and keep your Money. By the way this owner does not take =

credit cards, thus, this is how he can take advantage of people. there is =

not much recourse when transactions are paid in cash.

I've stayed there almost every summer for the past 10 years -- never had a problem. Very nice apartments -- great condition and Mr. Van Fleet was very nice to us.

I have stayed there too, and never had any problems, I really liked Mr. Van Fleet. If it was a problem, in your group, I can understand him keeping your deposit. You need to understand where he is coming from, when it comes to managing a rental property, you have to keep other tenants happy, too. Also, I would stay there again.

I have stayed at the same place and never once had a problem with Mr. Van Fleet. He is very fair in my eyes. I have stayed there many times.
