Budget Truck Rental

Budget Truck Rental

I had reserved a 16' truck on wednesday 9/26/07 for

pickup on 9/29/07 at the Huntington Station, NY location. I even called

the Huntington Branch to make sure that the truck would definitely be

available the previous thursday. I was reassured that there would be a

truck for me. I went to pick up the truck on saturday morning at 9am, and

was told that there was no truck available. What the hell is the point of

a reservation when people don't honor them? I had to rent a trailer from

uhaul, and make 5 trips. Not only did the Huntington Station location

screw me over, they said they would call me at 1pm with a status update.

Shockingly, no call was made. The level of service provided was apalling.

They ruined my move into my new home.

To top it all off, they had the nerve to charge me $50 for a no show.

Unbelievable. Why should I have to go through the hassle of calling and

removing the charge. These business practices are unacceptable, and

action should be taken.

Well, you can't be surprised by any company who's almost proud of their motto, "You CAN'T count on us" I rented a truck from those bozos and when i called to pick it up, the location was not only closed on the day I scheduled on line, but they also didn't have any of the trucks in stock. That was the Wall, NJ site. They were aplogetic and sent me half hour north to another location who had the truck - I ended up paying more because they had me over a barrel. When I called to complain, their response was that we DO NOT guarantee reservations (yes, I did ask if they knew why they had a reservation process). Funny thing, it wasn't their fault, they don't guraantee because sometimes the CUSTOMERS dont act appropriately. I also asked if they understood people rented trucks to make moves on specific days, and usually there wasn't room for changing the date. Response? "We don't guarantee reservations" So, it's not their fault, it's their customers fault (us bastards).
