Sunlight Dishwasher Detergent

Sunlight liquid detergent left a fine film on our glassware. We tried it several times and got the same results. Today we washed the same glassware in our dishwasher using Cascade powdered detergent. The glassware came out sparkling clean with none of the previous film from using Sunlight. I called Sunlight at the Phoenix Brands toll-free number and got no satisfaction at all. Be careful using Sunlight. Who knows what that film is made up from? Pay a little more and purchase a better brand.

Stay away from Sunlight oxiaction power pacs, too. This totally useless product did worse than leave a "film" on glassware. Our dishes are dirty, & I've never experienced this before. Our dishwasher is fully functional & other detergents don't cause this problem, so the product is very bad. We tried it several times and got the same results.

I also called Sunlight at the # listed on the box & was unable to speak to a rep. or leave a message. Bad business practices!

I purchased your Power Pacs for my dishwasher only because they were on sale trying to save money. My mistake I always use Cascade but thought since it was on sale wanted to save some money. My dishes had to be washed by hand as the dishes were still partly dirty. Never have that problem with the Cascade. Guess cheaper isnt better. Sorry I wont be buying this product again

just glassware? you are lucky - all my stainless cutlery and pots/pans have white crusty film on them - never happened with cascade ... first & last time on this product - too bad as the laundry soap is pretty good

I bought a new dishwasher I was so disgusted with my glassware. My friend told me it was the Sunlight dishwasher detergent that was doing it. Sure enough, I switched brands, and the difference is amazing. I have used Sunlight for years without any problem. They must have changed the formula.

I love sunlight dishwasher detergent. It is the only one that really cleans the soiled items off. I drink lots of tea and I don't take milk with that, consequently there is bad marks on the cups. Your detergent is the only one that will do that. I am now having problems finding it in the stores. Walmart used to sell it here but no more. I hope that you have not stopped making the product.

I've been using Sunlight liquid dishwasher detergent for years because it has a milder, less chlorine-y odor than other brands. Recently I've had problems with films left on the glassware. I bought a new bottle last week, labeled "Phosphate free." The liquid isn't opaque anymore -- it's like a clear gel and it doesn't clean well at all. We must ditto all the negative comments on the new gel Sunlight Oxiaction. The old pearlescent product was great and wooed us away from Cascade a couple of years ago. So, "back to the lab" experimenting with other brands. Sorry Phoenix, but when you have a good thing, don't blow it!

I found the same thing - a film on glassware and cutlery which could be scrubbed off by hand if you rub hard - but then why use a dishwasher in the first place if I have to wash by hand later? I will not use Sunlight Oxiclean any more.

I am having the same results that a heavy film was left on the dishes that needed to be scubbed off in the sink. I have only found this to happen when I used Sunlight Oxiclean dishwasher detergent. I really like Sunlight detergent and use it for the laundry and dishwasher. I had bought two boxes of the Sunlight Oxiclean dishwasher detergent and both left this heavy film. I trust Sunlight products and will continue using them, but will no longer use any of the Oxiclean detergents again.

"Who knows what that film is made up from?" Are you retarded? There are only three ingredients listed on the box: Chlorine, Sodium Carbonate and Sodium Silicate. If that film isn't residue from your greasy pork chops, then it's going to be some combination of those three ingredients.

I have used Sunlight Dishwasher Soap for years . The other Dishwasher Soaps leave streaks , and I refuse to use them .

The problem Metro(Loeb) , Loblaws , Food Basic , Canadian Tire , and Walmart don't seem to cary it anymore . I am running out , and want to purchase more . Where can I purchase it ? Sincerly David J . McDermid

I have been using Sunlight for the past couple of years. Always leaves my dishes sparkling clean. My local stores have stopped carrying it and I have yet to find a brand that works as well as Sunlight. I have tried them all and everyone of them leave a horrible white film not just on my dishes but all in my dishwasher.

Cascade powdered detergent leaves a film on my glassware as well as Electrasol while Sunlight leaves my dishes sparkling clean. I have hard water and it may be the chemicals in the Sunlight are better suited for hard water than Cascade and Electrasol.I have used Sunlight for years - I love it - never had a problem.

I bought Sunlight Oxiclean last night and the top opened in my trunk, it got on my new uniform pants and bleached them out ,there should have been a safty seal over the top. i am not very happy they were costly.

sunlight oxiaction powder detergent I used for the first time thought it was great. I have hard water were I live and it left no film or residue. I will only buy sunlight oxiaction powder from now on. Plus the powdered detergents are earth friendly when produced compared to liquids
