Exxon Gas Station-Mud & water in Gas
|
East York Exxon Servicecenter & Towing 3607 East Market Street York, PA 17406 This is a brief summary of what transpired immediately before and after = the forty dollar Exxon gas purchase at "East York Exxon Servicecenter & = Towing" (York,PA) for my 2006 Cadillac SRX. July 20 10:15AM - SRX was filled at another gas station as I planned to = drive to airport to pick up family members. Put in 12.9 gallons which = filled the tank. Note: I have receipt July 20 PM- Drove to Airport and picked up family members, and drove = back to our home. July 21 to 22- Family uses my car to visit family and friends. Note: = Have a legal affadavit stating the same facts as presented with this = write up. July 22- When family members arrive back to our home, I'm immediately = told they just filled the car up with gas as a simple thank you and = noticed when they got back in the car the gas gauge read zero. Note: was = about 1/3 tank showing when they stopped at Exxon station, and have = transaction sheet from credit card company. When family members showed = me the gas gauge issue reading zero with the car running the check = engine light was now displayed. Car was placed in garage. July 23-I called local Cadillac dealership Monday morning and talked to = Assistant Service Manager. Told him the car was filled up with gas and = gas gauge immediately did not work. Then upon driving back to our house = the check engine light was on. Earliest possible appointement available = was Friday, July 27 Note: The car in question was not used from when it was "placed in = garage" on July 22 until the morning of July 27 to take to Cadillac = dealership. July 27 AM- Travel 1/4 to 1/2 mile from house and car starts a very = rough idle at low speeds. I did not know this when I made athe = ppointment. Met service mgr. and tell him we can add a rough idle to = whatever problem we have. What they found after much diagnostic checks was gas and contaminants in = the gas tank, and I need to bring in (4) 5 gallon steel gas safety = containers so they can drain the gas. They found up draining a large = amount of mud which caused the car to be in service for 7 days while = awaiting parts and the end bill was over $2400. The mud is a concern to = any long term effects to the engine longevity. Note: I have all the bad = gas with water, mud, and other contaminants, along with the parts that = were taken out of the car. Thereafter- Have stopped at East York Exxon at least three times and = have given all information but I'm told "you are the only one who had a = problem and that just cannot be." Charles L.
