I have been haviing great difficulty accessing my account on Fotolia since last week end. Attempts to contact them have met with no response and the hotline number - which I have rung - on their website belongs to another party. That party has tried to contact them about this problem but has received no reponse to their e-mails.

 

What can be done about this?

Fotolia now requires you provide NOT only you social security, but now they want a copy of your govt issued id or passport if you want to cash out any earnings.


I think this is inappropriate. If they have to go to such extremes to keep your money then there must be some kind of scam going on. Plus the fact there is NO mention on their site till you login to your account that this new requirement is even around. It's not even in their rules and terms of use.


I find that suspicious.

Me, too. I posted a review about my bad experience with Fotolia in which I have advised people to beware of this site. Especially since they required my social security number and I've not heard from them since. So far as I can tell, it seems like a scam of some sort. Now, not only do they have my SS#, address, full name, and phone but they also have all of my work that was uploaded.
