Wireless service Cincinnati Bell 201 E. 4th St. Cincinnati, oh 45202 US https://cincinnatibell.com After several years of wireless service frome Cincinnati Bell it became necessary to change carriers after monthes of frustration when my son went to OSU and kept complaining that his texting did not work when he was in Columbus. I visited there store and we both spoke to several service and CB tech support people performing all that they asked to be done to make the texting function in Columbus. Nothing worked and finally one of their sales agents in the store told me her sister had the same problem with her texting at OSU and that Cincinnati Bell could not resolve the problem. So in May of 2007 I ported his phone service(to Verizon) while keeping the rest of us at Cinti. Bell. Over the next few monthes the fees for service rose at Cinti. Bell and it became more feasible to switch everyone over to the family plan with Verizon. I received a bill frome Cincinnati Bell this month for the entire month of service in August $95.00, even though the lines were only active for 6 days of service. When I inquired about being charged what amounts to $15.00+ per day for service they said they no longer prorate service and that they change there policy in a notice in July 2007. I never received any notice of this change and feel that this is an unfair policy which rips off the consumer and plan on filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office. We would not have had to change service if Cincinnati Bell would have been able to provide texting service in Columbus in the first place. I called Customer service twice to ask about a wireless internet phone plan and was told it was only available if I had a Cinti Bell landline and their internet service. Well okay, but several competitors have no problem with other internet ISP's. Then when I needed a new phone after about three years of use they would not even give me the same deal they would to new customers. Also, like several others they pulled the no pro-rate scam on me when I cancelled. What does their advertising say - no contracts. The comments supporting them above must be from an employee as they do supposedly offer complete service across the country. Additionally, putting a flyer in a bill is not an acceptable way of modifying a plan that is advertised as a no-contract plan. For me I would never go back and considering how they treat longer term customers, I have to believe their days are numbered as a separate entity. Columbus is NOT part of the Cincinnati Bell Wireless coverage area (check out cincinnatibell.com for details). How can you hold a company responsible for what happens when you are NOT using their towers? Did you know that when you leave the calling area, you roam on other companies networks, such as AT&T and Verizon? I`ll bet you didn't. 2. The information for your final bill was included in an insert on your july bill, and in your online bill if applicable. Furthermore, you were given a full month`s worth of minutes on your final bill, and that is why you were charged. This policy changed not to charge you more, but to stop the ridiculous amount of complaints regarding the amount of prorated final bills where the minute usage exceeded the prorated minute allowance (if you only want to pay for part of it, you on ly get part of it, which is fair). the extra monthly fee on average is much cheaper the the average overage on the final bill that used to happen under the old policy. Furthermore, Cincinnati Bell WILL work with a customer who has an overage provided they change their plan to fit their usage. In a final bill case, the plan cannot be changed since the service no longer exists, and nothing could be done in the case of overages. Dont judge before you know. oh, and to the person who ``quit`` because of policies, just because you have no skills (SS!)does NOT mean the company sucks. Seems every month they would come up with a new way to screw customers on charges. I finally got sick of being the person taking constant abuse from customers about things like this I had no control over. Their justification for these policy changes? "All of the other carriers do it". The fact that Cincy Bell did not do these things made it great to work there for the time being. I can say from my experience, it is a very shoddy company with marginal coverage and customer service. I now work for AT&T and take great pride and satisfaction everytime I churn a Bell customer. I really makes my day:) From: Message Author (click here to email author) (has asked not to receive email)Date: Tuesday, 26-Feb-08 20:52:31 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisCBW is the worst customer service driven organization I have ever dealt with. They used the same excuse to screw me out of 25 days worth of premium.
