Dear Sir/Madam,

I am seriously disturbed by the manner in which your engineers of Tata Sky go about installing their dish antennae. They drilled seven holes right into the load bearing corner column of the first floor of our building.

With the number of building collapsing all over due to the stupidity of such people who should know better, I am amazed that a corporate that bears the Tata name should be doing something so dangerous.

Another mystery I find unfathomable is Tata Sky's extreme reluctance to divulge any name or telephone number of the person or persons in charge of the state or region sales.

Using my newpaper contacts I got the name of a sales agent one Vila of Digital World, Panjim, Goa tel: +919822147148. He was extremely abrupt and informed me that he was an engineer and there is no harm in drilling three deep inch holes of 12 millimetre diameter into a load bearing column.

He added they have even cut into the beam and the building has not fallen. When I asked him whether he would stand by his statement in ten years when the building cracked up he told me I was "wasting his time" and cut the telephone call off.

I called up a civil engineer who asked me to find out where Vila bought his engineering degree because even wiring conduits are not taken through load bearing columns.

This is a matter of public interest so I am going to publish this wherever I can and on the internet and I suggest you get Tata Sky to clean up its act.

You cannot go around hiring untrained and unsupervised clowns to set up dish antennae on structures which will suffer long term damage to life and property.

Also in the interests of good business practices, please ask the powers that be in Tata Sky to make available names and telephone numbers of responsible persons so that some control can be exercised.

What Tata Sky is doing is dangerous. Mine is just one voice, there must be thousands like me.
