Company: Match.com : scant regard for user privacy

Location: 4 Tintern Mews
Cheltenham, Vi, 3192

Category: Other

I have been a member for 2 months now and in that time I have been aware that the text of a persons email is scanned and edited and not just the headers.

It has become so aggressive that they can now rip out phone numbers and even coded email addresses. e.g. Their scan will recognise "name AT

hotmail DOT com" as well as "name.hotmail.com" and it will be removed and replaced by the site contact.

I am aghast at their scant regard to privacy of their customers' messages to each other.

Surely there is a statute somewhere that prohibits such intrusive practises?

I am appalled. I have not yet cancelled my membership (since it is paid) but I wonder about automatic rebilling. I have yet to tread this little avenue of pleasure.
