Whole Foods

Whole Foods As a consumer I have been shopping at Whole Foods for about two years. I always thought that the high prices were worth the food quality so I felt good shelling out my hard earned money for both prepared and unprepared foods. I was very excited when El Segundo opened their own Whole Foods! Right in my neighborhood, how convenient. Yesterday I purchased prepared meatloaf. When I served it for dinner my son noticed a hard piece of plastic?in the meatloaf. Not to be deterred we continued on but stopped dead in our tracks when my son reached a blue fully intact rubber band! On closer inspection I discovered the rubber band must have been cooked into the meat as a result of being dropped on the floor since it was in the center buried deep inside the meat loaf. There appeared to be "trash" cooked into the meatloaf and my son, being the sensitive person he is actually got sick with the idea that?he just ate "trash". I assume the hamburger was dropped on the floor and then promptly (or not so promptly) picked up and added to the mix then cooked. I am in the process of contacting the General Manager of the El Segundo Whole Foods store but when I called there this morning at 9:30 I was told "Bill" would not be in until around 11:00. I tried to contact the Regional office but got voice mail and I am not in the mood to leave a bunch of voice mails or play phone tag. I do not know what my next move will be but I still have this worrisome meatloaf, rubber band and all in my refrigerator. I am horrified that a store that?claims to be "Top of the line" in prepared foods would let something like this happen and be so obviously careless and/or negligent. Why am I telling you this story? Because I am outraged that I have trusted Whole Foods to be above the rest in all areas of service and feel I and others are paying high prices and being "duped". I think the public should be informed. Thanks for listening. Vickie ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever. First of all, I'm pretty sure that whole foods didn't drop it on the ground and cook it and serve it. Things happen and I can almost guarantee something happened during the prep and that rubber band fell in there by accident. I am 100% sure that if you would have brought that meatloaf back to them and explained the situation they would have either replaced it for you or given your money back. End of story. I don't think anyone that works for the company is that sick. Things happen to the best of us. Sucks that you got a bad meatloaf. You know what you could have done? Bring it back into the store, you'd get your money back in about a minute and the attention of everyone of importance in the store. And why on earth would you not just wait until 11 to call rather than try to contact regional, it's not like they said he was on vacation for a month, really what difference is an hour and a half going to make? Also why didn't you call that very evening? Almost all whole foods are open to 9 or 10. I am imagining that there could have been a container of rubber bands on a shelf above the prep table and a clean rubber band fell into the meat... I am also imagining that the meat could have been wrapped up in plastic wrap and held with a band that accidentally got into the meat. You are so quick to "know" that it was dropped on the floor. There are endless scenarios that accidents happen, and I am sure you have never made a mistake in your life. I think you are making a mountain out of a molehill by saying the "public is being duped"... There are no magic wands at Whole Foods...just a bunch of all natural food...if you wanna go eat some hydrogenated oil and msg, by all means, take your money to another store I guess...
