lack of parts

I was told that my 8 year old 30" double self cleaning convection ovens could not be repaired due the fact that the part was not available until 2010!!! Can anyone imagine someone telling you that and expecting you to ever buy their products again? We are just a couple and the ovens are not heavily used. They were Kitchenaids and I guess Whirlpool just doesn't care about customers - they've gotten too big for their britches.
