Home Shopping Network: Revoked Membership

Home Shopping Network: Revoked Membership I thought that I was a valued customer/member of HSN. Technically, one does have a membership, although it's free. My mother warned me about this company. She was right. Although I have received beautiful items at great prices. If something was damaged, they were nice enough not to charge me for returns, even for items that did not fit! They would send me exchanges before the other items was sent back! They gave me a lot of leeway...and time to send back the other item! I do not think I ever had a problem with a return not being credited. I am a victim of ID theft. I called them to put my account on fraud alert. The Customer Service rep put $20 Kash into my account, as I was crying. (Thank you Ebay.) Sometime after May 7, 2007, I believe, I went to the check-out, and a message said it could not process my order, to call Customer Service. I thought it was something as simple as a missed easy payment. Sorry to say, not the case. I was transferred to the executive department. He told me that my membership was revoked, and would not give me a reason. I asked if HSN could send a letter. His reply, "no." I called again. I spoke to someone else in the executive department. Again, no reason...however, I was told a letter would be mailed. HSN will revoke your membership if you return too many items, cancel too many items, or you don't pay for your merchandise. In my case, none of the above. I have no idea. We spent a lot of money there! I received two letters. They were both very nasty. However, the letters were about revoking my check-writing. No, I do not use checks to hold my orders. I am a disabled person. Next, I have sent my checks (I don't think 10 days is long enough). HSN oversells all the time. The second letter stated that I was keeping other customers from buying the merchandise. I checked, and everything I ordered was in stock. Now, I sent a check to the wrong address which CS provided. I also forgot to put my membership no. in the memo section. Meanwhile, before receiving the second letter, I was told that my check writing was allowed. I am disabled, the other house has no pc or cable. Personally, I prefer to place orders via the net, so I get credit via Mrrebates. Checked HSN's web-site, found the correct check order address. HSN told me they have not received my checks to-date...I was told that they would fulfill the orders placed. I have to check my bank again. I know that there are other places to shop. However, we have spent a lot of money there, and to be kicked out for no reason. I think it's discrimination against the disabled, because sometimes I require assistance? I know some of the vendors, but some items are only available new at HSN. As stated above, I also bought a very expensive oven which turned out to be a dud. If I knew that my membership would be revoked I would not have bought it! I have received conflicting e-mails from HSN. One states that as a former member, I can only discuss my orders via mail. Another e-mail states that I can call Customer Service. When I call, they will not speak to me; I am sent to a supervisor, and treated very rudely. Apparently, if you have pending orders and/or orders within the month, and the suspend your membership, you are alone. Thank goodness I used a credit card. If they cash my checks and do not send the merchandise, I also have legal rights. My credit card company said I could place a complaint against HSN, as the item is not as described. For one, it gets hot on the outside. With my disease, this is dangerous. Customer Service told me the top gets hot, but not the sides. Anyway, I have not opened the package. According to the reviews, the oven is a lemon. Secondly, the trust issue. Until then, I actually had a pretty good service at HSN. I never would have bought an expensive, heavy item from them if I had known. I could just see the executives sitting around deciding to revoke my membership, all 96 pounds of me, and almost $20,000 later. Just a few days before my membership was revoked, I called Customer Service with a question, and they were trying to sell me other items. I placed the order myself. They also made a smart remark to my husband. He told them not to send my slippers to the house, as the mailbox does not lock. Additionally, UPS will leave items on the stairs. Our Mom will not answer the door, and if she did, it would take her awhile to get there. We just do not want her disturbed by UPS. We do not want our merchandise stolen out of the mailbox! Thanks. I am seeking legal recourse against this store. I am stuck with Ultrex, a recalled pressure cooker, and some Technibond that should have the life-time warranty, as the jewelry was bought before March 07. My husband's money is still green and so are my friends. I say let's just get a petition. I am also a member of many consumer forums. Word gets around, even to such a large corporation. Apparently, it's their loss, not mine. I would send you copies of the letters, but I have not had time to scan. I'm quite ill. Thanks for listening. I hope you can assist me. I have other legal matters that are above HSN at this moment. http:// HREF="http:// Care2.com's Race for Pets!
