Florida College of Natural Health in Miami

Florida College of Natural Health in Miami I attended Florida College of Natural Health and it was a joke. They paint a pretty picture but fail to follow through. They are unorganized and are theives. For attendance they keep a record but poorly. I suggest you keep a record of your own and have teachers sign at the end of each class. They charge by the minute for make-up classes and if you don't have proof you've attended classes they'll make you pay for make up and once they know they can play you, the process will continue until you stop it. I don't promote violence, just keep a daily tab with teachers' signature.
Also I had to leave due to life issues, they said I had to pay all of my tuition, from start to finish even though I had given them enough notice and the time of full payment had not elapsed, but they claimed they would have to take legal action. Naive, I complied and took out a personal loan to pay it off. When I was ready to return to school I was required to attend a re-entrance interview. The loan I had taken out to pay was never applied, the check was still in my file in their office. I wondered why, but over looked it. The people in this interview seemed understanding, but the director Debra Starr, kept nudging to shine a negative light on circumstances, she said I would be placed on probation and asked to leave if I missed one day. I accepted because they already had my money and I wanted my degree. At the end of the interview they said they would contact me with any fees needed if any. After a couple of days I called back to find out what th final verdict was and they said I would have to pay all of my tuition again.
I said I had a letter stating I could return which was issued when I left, the employees were different so they gave me the run around and kept my money. I truly think they had no right to cash that check and that was why it stay in my file, they stole from me and I believe they attempted to do it again. I now have my degree from another school, but I hope this does not happen to anyone else.
I want you to know the teachers are educationally fun, but the main office, the money people, they are scammers and will scam you out of your money if you are not on your A game. If they were as bad as you say they are why do so many have positive experineces. I went to 4 different universites and all off them had good and bad instructors. Some had no tutoring or finacial advisors to talk with. Many times college is what you make of it and students that struggle with attendance issues or grades many times want to balme the school for their failures. If you had such a negative experience why did you not file a complaint with the ACCSC or the Department of Education instead of posting it here. I think many of these complaints are actually from rival colleges because they tend to have the same postings on various websites that seen to be written by the same individuals. What school did you end up getting your license from? The other options I am considering are Hollywood Institute of Beauty Careers OR Beauty Schools of America. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Students primarily attend FCNH, to further their careers in the areas of massage or skincare. Skincare students are taught exclusively from the Milady textbook, which is full of misinformation and half-truths. For instance, in the career chapter, the book suggests that with an aesthetician license, one can walk into jobs that actually require further education and licenses -- mortuary cosmetics, for example. Job skills (resume writing, cover letters) are discussed in the broadest and most basic terms. Again, no specifics germane to beauty, cosmetics, skincare, etc. The teachers tend to push pseudo-science and some pressure students to follow their thinking on subjects with no data to substantiate. Staff turnover is high, and the student body is disregarded when demanding higher standards, called "negative" by the administration. All in all, the school's/Steiner's corporate culture is one of wishful thinking, obfuscation and confusion. Slap dash presentation of educational materials and minimal clinic curriculum are the norm. While other FL schools cover body wraps and peels, FCNH does not. Real world advice on getting a job in the field is nil. Staff in the admissions department ought to wear masks. Their misrepresentation of what the school offers, in exchange for the high tuition, is tantamount to highway robbery. I say this in the strongest language that I can, as students graduate devastated by debt, only to be ignored by the so-called Department of Career Services. Shame on the leadership of this school, and shame on the corporation that promotes it.
