Choice Hotels keeps having promotions of staying 1 night in 2 different hotels and receiving a free night at their hotels (8,000 points). The problem is that one is unable to find any of their hotels that will give you a free night for 8,000 points.

Choice Hotels have around 6,000 hotels (per customer service), but the reservations people say that their are "very few" hotels that one can stay in for 8,000 points. No one is able or willing to give me a list of the hotels where one can stay for 8,000 points.

We have driven from California to Maryland, and been unable to find any hotels one could stay in for the 8,000 points. Why are they allowed to keep doing these promotions? They seem to be very misleading!
