Academy DJs/ DJ Company

Academy DJs/ DJ Company I was married on May 12, 2007 in Abington , PA and used Academy DJs, a national DJ company. Unfortunately my husband and I were very disappointed in the service we received. We not only composed a list of specific songs on their web site and when we wanted them played, but we also met with the dj assigned to our event prior to the event and were clear about what we wanted. Below is a list of issues that came up during the evening. 1. The song that I walked down the aisle to was incorrect and had to be stopped so the correct song could be played. 2. The microphone worked sporadically and there was a great deal of feedback during the ceremony. 3. We asked for a 40/60 split of slow songs to fast songs. During the whole evening including the special slow songs (3) there were four to five slow songs. Fast songs were played for extended periods of time with no break. 4. We specifically asked that a hora be played. This was not done at all. 5. We gave the dj a cd of Hebrew songs during our meeting two weeks before the wedding and noted specifically which songs we wanted played. These were songs that meant a great deal to my family. None of these songs were played. 6. In our list of songs we requested that songs from a variety of genres be played. The wedding was multi-generational (as most weddings are) yet the music played was from the 70's on. We asked for big band songs as well as other songs from the 40's and 50's none of which were played. 7. We asked that "typical" wedding songs not be played like the electric slide, etc. Doin' the butt and I like big butts were played back to back. These were not the type of songs we wanted played, especially not in a row. 8. Toward the end of the evening, I was going to talk to the dj about the music, and he was leaning outside the window of the pavilion on his cell phone. 9. When we contacted the owner of the company after the event with our complaints, he did not apologize, and proceeded to tell us that we weren't helping matters by venting to him about our issues and requesting a timely response. Do not use this company for your dj needs. The service was extremely poor and they did not do the things that we were promised and paid for.
