SEARS - Appliance delivery

SEARS- Walnutport, PA.

5/29/07

I purchased a stove at Sears and SPECIFIED that we need delivery after 4 pm. I was told that Sears delivers up until 7pm., as long as I arrange that with the delivery people. The night before delivery, I was called and told that delivery would be at 9am. I requested to speak to a Manager, and was told that someone would call back. I waited for 40 minutes, and no one called. When I tried to call again, FIRST-I was put on hold for another 5 minutes and then cut off. SECOND-I called again and had the rudest person who would not speak to me. THIRD- I finally did get a Mgr and was told that I have to take delivery when the truck is in our area. NOW-I was sold this appliance under FALSE pretenses...not to mention that a week or so prior to this sale, I purchased a $1700.00 Refrigerator from Sears. I had to pay up front for this appliance-NOT WHEN IT WILL FINALLY BE DELIVERED! From what they're telling me-it could be months until a truck is in my area after 4pm!

My appliance is scheduled delivery on Thursday 5/31.....but then again that's if there will be a truck in my area....oh yea...that's right, I won't know that until the night before! I might just have to keep playing this rescheduling game until I hit it lucky, even if it's 6 months from now! Or....maybe I'll borrow a truck and return the $1700.00 refrigerator while I get my refund for the stove!

SEARS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES! If you plan to purchase a major appliance, you might as well plan to waste a day off of work, because you won’t know until the night before what time they are planning on delivering….or should I say what time a truck will be in your area!

On July 23rd we called Sears to request repair service for our 2 year old top of the line washing machine. It is now 11 weeks later and after 6 service calls we still do not have an operating washing machine. Sears business practices are not customer friendly and repair service dept. is inept. Hard times are coming and inferior business organizations like Sears will definitely go under because people do have a choice as to where they will spend their hard earned money. Our advice based on the terrible experience we have had with Sears is save yourself lots of future aggravation by shopping elsewhere.
