MetLife - 401k - Dear Sirs,
As an employee of Slant/Fin Corp. (100 Forest Dr., Greenvale, NY 11548), I had a 401k account with MetLife. My assets accumulated in my account, after years of contributions, exceeded $160,000. I was told that MetLife would not charge any fees for managing the employees 401k and I was surprised finding out that not only both the broker and Met Life actually charge fees and management, but these charges amount to 1.5% of the TOTAL ASSETS and are HIDDEN fees.
My complaint is focused against the unfair procedure of charging an exorbitantly high fee (approx. $2,400/year) which equals more than two months of my contributions towards my retirement. It was certainly NOT the legislators’ intention that the employees would work to maintain the lifestyle of brokers and companies managing the retirement 401k.
I would appreciate your suggestion on how to handle this complaint.
Sincerely,
