detailed complaint :

Below is the exact Letter I emailed to MDG TWICE as a complaint towards a purchase. It went completely unacknowledged in any way or form, so now I wish to post it here in hopes that they will need to respond. I believe their Promos they run to be very close to bordering on total lies:

Hello,

I would like to take this time to relay my strong displeasure to my recent computer purchase experience. Hopefully there is a misunderstanding that can be cleared up.

I came into your Calgary Store on January 20, with the intent of upgrading my current system. I ended up customizing a system, and purchased what was known as Apton XBX DC. I understood this to be your top line.

I paid $1997 + tax for this system, my invoice if you need a reference is #CUN008

Now, I should make clear , the product itself, I am quite pleased with. That is the only reason I completed the purchase after what I outline next, which has me upset.

Between the time I entered the store, and the time I received my Computer on Jan 26, Sales were in effect , advertisng:

* No GST on all 2007 Desktop Models

* Free XBOX 360

* TerraByte Hard Drive

* Free Printers

* ETC

At any point I would mention one of these offers, it was very quickly explained to me that I “Don’t qualify for that “ In the case of the Xbox was told that it was only on systems $3000 or more(which it says nowhere in the advertising)

When I brought up the No GST offer, I even said I would put the savings towards purchasing a Monitor then and there. Instead , I was told to go and buy one from Memory Express, but I still did not “qualify” for No GST, even though your advertising States “on all 2007 Desktop models”. If I’m not mistaken, mine is a 2007, and also a desktop model. Why did this not qualify?

Now granted, yes, I did custom build mine, but I would think that a customer spending more than even the top system you advertise would receive better treatment, better offers. At the time I would have settled for any one of these offers. Now, although as I stated earlier I am pleased with the product itself, the buying experience has left me feeling very mislead. Unless there can be some satisfactory explanation to it all , I will recommend to friends and family to not purchase there.

I look forward to hearing back from you
