This company was contracted by my home warranty company on Sunday (5-13-07) when my air conditioners blower (squirrel cage) malfunctioned and came apart. When I called the Destiny Air on Monday afternoon to see if they received the work order I was told that they could only come by on Tuesday morning. When they arrived on Tuesday the technicians took not only the “squirrel cage” they took the entire blower motor and blower motor housing. Prior to leaving my house the technician located the part he needed Webster which is only 10 miles from my house, but said he would have to come back on Wednesday to install the part. The technicians also kept telling me that they would have to check the entire system to see if the “squirrel cage” punctured the coils when it broke. They checked the outside unit with their gauges but never told me whether or not it was low on coolant. I then began to get a bad feeling about these technicians so after they left I went into my attic to see if there was anyway that the “squirrel cage” could have punctured the coils. From where the technicians removed the blower motor and “squirrel cage” there is no way it could have damaged the coils and as a matter of fact you can even see the coils from where it is mounted. The air is blown around a 90% elbow that is built onto the blower motor housing. They never returned or called on Wednesday. On Thursday I had to call them and when the finally answered they told me that a technician would be at my house between 12p and 3p. When 3p came and went I began to call Destiny Air and only reached a recording. I left several messages asking them to call me back however I did not receive a single call. When I called on Friday I only received a recording saying I reached the on-call technician and when I left a message, guess what…… “NO ANSWER OR CALL BACK.” Obviously this is not a company that anyone should do business with. Not only do they refuse to call their customers back and give them an update but they have shady practices where they take not only the broken parts but also working parts so you can’t call a different company to fix your problem without paying for missing parts which are more expensive. I highly recommend that you reconsider if you are thinking of calling this “shady” bunch of “criminals.”
