Happy Tails kennels - owner kicks dogs

Beware of Happy Tails. If the owner of Happy Tails kicks animals in front of customers, what are they doing when you are not around? My wife and I researched into a place that we could leave our dogs while on vacation. We came across “Happy Tails” and “THOUGHT” that a place where your dog(s) could roam free and not be kept in a kennel SOUNDED good. Not so much. We had to do an orientation to find out if our dog would be well mannered enough to stay there and while on the orientation, the worker who was talking with us (who happened to be one of the owners!) decided to kick one of the dogs right in front of us. Not like a shove either. This was a kick. Two dogs were obviously just playing (isn’t that what they should be able to do there???) , so the owner decided to just haul off and kick the one dog off the other. We were so much in shock after seeing what he did that we could hardly think of what to say. We already were not impressed with his professionalism because earlier he had made crude jokes about a dog’s testicle size after 2 minutes of talking to us. Please inform anyone you know not to leave their dogs at Happy Tails. Not to mention there were WAY too many dogs in the room at one time. They will tell you that they try not to take too many in, but there must have been 40-50 when we were there just in the small dog area. And he mentioned they were slow at the time. I would say 80-90% of them were just scared and intimidated. Needless to say we told him we were not interested in leaving our dog with someone who might do the same thing to our dogs and we left. I left the place feeling sick and sorry for the dogs that were there. In the long run, I think they would prefer feeling safe in a crate (and not being abused). We ended up just leaving our dogs with a rescue group volunteer that watches dogs for money on the side. I highly recommend researching into this. I think your pet would much rather stay in a home environment. Happy Tails is bad news. Like I said before, if the owner of Happy Tails kicks animals in front of customers, what are they doing to our pets when we are not around?
