Rite Aid Stores Rosedale, MD - False Advertising

Rite Aid Stores Rosedale, MD - False Advertising Last Sunday I went to a Rite Aid Store located in Kenwood Ave., Rosedale, MD. As I was walking around the store I saw a sticker in front of several cans of Almond Rocca which states “Temporary Price Reduction” $.99 a can of Almond Rocca. The date range for the sale was sometime in April until 6/02. Being that this item is normally $6.99 I took all four cans left on the shelf to the counter. Lo and behold when the cashier scanned the product it came out to $3.99 a can as opposed to what the sticker said. I brought the sticker to the cashier to show what it said. When he saw it he called the Manager who told me that that product was currently on sale for $3.99 and because it was on sale for $3.99 it cannot be on TPR or temporary price reduction. Now, the thing is, nowhere is there a sign on the shelf which states that the current price for the Almond Rocca is $3.99. And even if that is the case, why keep the sticker on the shelf if and when that is not what the current price of the product is.
I guess this situation is par for the course for Rite Aid. I have noticed several times how fond they are of misleading the consumers with their advertising especially in their circulars.
