Sony dcs-n1 camera LCD damaged by owner of Aden (Bill Cheung) by using an exacto knife to install a protective shield. Aden Camera 4300 Steeles Avenue East Unit B-31 (Pacific Mall) Markham, Ontario Canada, L3R 0Y5 I took my camera a sony dcs-n1 to Aden at the pacific mall location to install a protective shield on the lcd part of the camera. Mr. Bill Cheung (owner) started the installation and ran into a problem, the shield started to kink about 1/2 inch from the corner. He then tried to force it in, but it didn't work so he ask the sales woman who was at the store with him for an exacto knife, and she hesitated, but he insisted to have the knife. The use the knife to force one corner in but it still didn't work so the sales woman took over from him and used a nail file to force the shield in. They said that the kink will go away when I get home. After I got home the kinks didn't go away, so I took it out and found that the lcd on my camera was chipped in three location on the corner he was working with using the exacto knife. This happened on Sunday 13, May 2007. On Monday 14 May 2007, I went back to the store at pacific mall and Bill was not there. The sales woman was there. She looked at it and said that the camera had no scratches or chips before Bill added the shield. So I told her to have a look at the camera and she was surprised to find it chipped. She then said that she couldn't do anything and that I would have to talk to Bill the owner, and that I could find him at the Yonge and elm store (348 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5B 1S5) On Tuesday 15 May 2007 I visited the store and he was not there. Another sales woman at the store said he will be at the store on Wednesday 16 May 2007. So on Wednesday 16, May 2007 I went to the store and he (Bill) was there. I took the camera out and showed him the chipped corner. His reply was that he didn't do that. So I asked him if he used the exacto knife, and at first he said he used his finger nail with a piece of cloth on top, which was not true. By the way he does not have finger nails long enough to force the shield in. I said that you asked the sales woman for the knife and she told him not to use the knife. He then finally admit he did use the knife, but only to remove the protective shield, which was not true. He also said that he is not responsible for the damage done on the camera. I have asked a few camera stores and everyone said that they will never use a knife on a delicate lcd screen. Yet Mr. Bill Cheung said that is how he does it. Now I am out of a $10.00 protective shield and a damaged lcd screen. I just want everyone to know that Mr. Bill Cheung owner of Aden Camera is not a trustworthy business person. He is a great LIAR and CON.
