I am surprised and shocked after a very bad response from a so called "Authorized Philips service center".

My Philips DVD player (727K) had a starting problem after inserting a DVD, though I did not use the player much

and I used original DVDs whenever I was used.One fine day, I gave the player to the service center located on

"CBI Road, Ganganagar, Bangalore, India". I gave the details and as Usual, he said, Sir, please call and

check after 2 days. I called after 2 days, he said, Sir, not yet ready please call tomorrow.

No idea how I got so much patience, 2 months passed !! He said, Sir OPU has a problem.

That means, they checked the defect after 2 months ! ok. agreed. what next ? He said, check after 2 days.

By then I became a fool of myself, called again, he said, OPU is not in stock sir, it will take some more time.

This is the time I called the manager of that service center, Sri Ram. I had to explain everything.

I made him clear that, if you say something, stick to it. Otherwise don't commit. The manager explained the

probelm of non-availability of OPU. But he ALSO assured me that the component will come in a week.

Ok, called them again after a week. No Luck.

By now, its More than, 2 and half months. He asked me to come and collect. I went to the service center and

he made me wait for 30 min atleast. He came back and told me Sir, MPEG component has also gone.

Now, who knows, which part has the problem. He offered me "Replacement of latest DVD player 3046 DivX) for a

price of Rs 2500 where in market it costs approx Rs 3700. I agreed for that too.

Now he asked me to collect the new DVD player next day. I wanted to confirm if they have the new peice ready

before i go there So i called and he said, Sir, we have the new pieces. I said, Ok, tomorrow morning 10 o'clock

i will come and collect. He said, ok.

Next day morning, at 10, I was in the service center. He said, Sir 2 min. Believe it or not, his 2 min became 40 min

I asked him, what is the problem ? He said, Sir, my manager is getting the DVD player from a showroom.

I asked him, why did you say that new pieces are ready yesterday ? As usual, he said, sorry Sir ! I asked him,

should I wait another half an hour ? After thinking for few seconds, he said, sir, please give me your address

and phone number and we will deliver tomorrow morning. I said, you need to come before 11 AM and after that I will

be leaving to office. He agreed and this time i had some hopes that he will deliver the DVD layer

Next day morning, I waited until 10 and just to remind I gave him a call. He had almost forgotten..! He said, Sir,

I will be there in another half an hour. Until 11 I did not see him. No call too. I left to my office.

That whole day no call from the service center

Not sure, how others have felt about this service center but I have decided not to go for any Philips products here after.
