Photo Video Network / Wedding Video

Photo Video Network / Wedding Video PhotoVideo Network. 1620 W. Oakland Park Boulevard, Suite #404. Ft Lauderdale, FL 33311. 954.735.9743. We had a terrible experience with Photo Video Network. The sales person used high pressure sales tactics. (Told us the deal wouldn’t be available tomorrow because it would be sold to someone else) He also lied about what was included. Once we found out (within 1 week of signing deal) we tried to cancel. Of course, no luck. They had our check and wouldn’t cancel. Photographer was late for our wedding. He left early. It took 6 weeks after wedding for them to contact us. They had my wife come down and pressured her into signing and paying for more unnecessary editing. That was 5 PM. I called at 8 AM the next morning to cancel the unnecessary work and they said it was too late they already started the work. ANOTHER 6 weeks and we finally receive notification work was done. Video was horrible. They got the names wrong in the titles. Video of ceiling. Video of floors. Not much editing was done. All was a terrible mess and a terrible experience. We will never recommend them and in fact we will do what we can to discourage others from using them as you can see by this posting. Mistakes can be made and promises can be misunderstood. That happens. However, they wanted nothing to do with trying to help resolve our disputes. Even if they would have been a little compassionate or compromised just a little, we wouldn’t be posting this complaint. Don’t let them convince you they never had us as a customer or that the above is not fact. There is much more to list, but we feel we are making our point sufficiently here. Thank you for listening. We hope this will help someone else avoid an unpleasant experience on their wedding day! This has been the worst experience with a company in my life. They sent a lazy photographer to our wedding, he didn't do anything right, we had to tell him where to take the pics, talk about professionalism, not this company. I beg you not to go to them. I can't believe that this was happening, when we went there thinking we had to bring baby pictures, musical selections for the video editing, they told us we had to pay for it. None of which was in the contract, there were so many lies, trust me you will not get what you think you're getting. Worst company ever. Please don't believe the hype... I suggest we put together to shut this company down, they're lying to ppl and they're horrible @ doing business...Contact if anyone wants to start a petition... The salesman told me that he had another appointment early the next morning and that they wanted the same date, (Yeah right!!!) I signed a contract with them in October, and the salesman raved about how they were accredited by the BBB. Unfortunately when I checked, the BBB was updating their records and had nothing on them. When I finally was able to retrieve info from BBB, they had close to 100 complaints and were rated a C. When I called the company, they told me how much business they do annually and that is just a small percentage. I bought that argument for a while, but still had the uncomfortable feeling in the pit of my stomach. I tried to ignore it - but it just wouldn't go away. I have read all the complaints over the last couple of years. The last straw was when I checked the complaints board again and another complaint had been posted a day earlier. Of course I tried to cancel the contract and they told me that because I disputed it with AmEx, they would cancel it, but I needed to send them a check for $100 because I disputed the charge. That had to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. They did cancel my contract after telling me what a mistake I was making and that professional people don't use the BBB as their reference guide. They have refused to give me my deposit back, and at this point it doesn't matter. I don't have that nagging feeling anymore that the photographer I will be using is going to screw up my wedding day. Please, save yourself the aggravation, and don't even bother calling them to come to your house. They'll come to your house to show you the product, but you have to go to New Jersey - during work hours to pick up your end result that might not even be that great. I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with this company and will share it so no one else will use this company. When I had originally called to make an appointment to view the merchandise taken by the company, I was told that a representative meets at your residence and the office is only used for follow-up appointments. A gentleman from the company met at our house to discuss numerous photo and video packages. He sold us on utilizing the company, saying that whoever we chose to book for our wedding would be available, they would have two cameras in case something happened to the first one, they would use digital photos in addition to regular photos,we would get the negatives and the photographer would bring extra film. We were also told that if there was a problem with the photographer or videographer, a substitute would be immediately available. We booked with the company and paid extra for the photographer to have extra film on him because we knew we had a large family and would rather have too much film than not enough. We made sure that we paid 2/3 of our bill, as requested by the company, prior to the event, and awaited our wedding day. Day of the wedding...The photographer arrived late. He ran out of film after our ceremony and asked us what pictures we wanted at the reception because he only had ten pictures left. Near hysterics and ready to commit bodily harm to the photographer, our DJ from another company began calling photographers he knew to try and get them to come to our wedding IN PROGRESS!!! He also made an announcement at the wedding for GUESTS TO TAKE PICTURES FOR US because the photographer RAN OUT OF FILM!!! Additionally, the photographer WOULD NOT USE anyone else's camera at the event and proceeded to stand against the wall doing nothing. I went up to him and asked him what he was doing and he stated he was staying for the next two hours even though he DIDN'T HAVE ANY FILM LEFT TO FILM THE WEDDING!!! I told my brother to throw him out, which he did. I also left numerous messages on the company's emergency phone line, but no one answered. The video guy that was booked through the company attempted to do the best he could with the video, which we appreciate, but to be honest, we never watch it because I hate the company so much. The day after the wedding, I called PhotoVideo Network ON THE WAY TO THE AIRPORT FOR MY HONEYMOON and spoke with the owner of the business, Jim Peters, who was not only rude but uncompromising. I told him how the photographer ran out of film, stood by and planned to do nothing for two hours, and put me into tears at my own wedding. 'TOO BAD', he says. I told him I wanted to see the photos this guy took prior to paying any additional money, and he said, 'No.' Jim Peters ASSURED me the photos were fine, that the photographer was a FABULOUS guy, that everything would be fine, and that he never promised to have extra film (lies, have it in my contract AND paid extra for it) or a digital camera, or another photographer available for the event in case we have problems with the current photographer (another lie, check our contract). Needless to say, I was sick as a dog on my honeymoon because of the stress, was crying throughout because I knew the photos from the day were ruined, and could not believe how anyone could treat a bride and groom like that on their wedding day and continue to do so afterwards. We got back from our honeymoon, paid to see the proofs, picked the basic pictures, and were told we would have to give back ALL OF THE PROOFS for them to make 20 photos for the album. I refused and they told us they wouldn't make our album, or any of the photos we paid for already without the proofs. I surrendered the proofs, and left the ratty office the company used. I only ordered the basic album for my album and my mother's and mother-in-law's. We ended up purchasing the negatives additionally for $400 so I would never have to deal with them ever again. A year later, my husband's boss asked my husband about the photo company we used since he put down $1,000 deposit for them for his daughter's wedding. I told his boss he should have asked me before putting the deposit down because I would have saved him $1,000. I told him our story and told him to lose the $1,000 and book with another company, which he did. His daughter's wedding went off without a hitch. I HATE PHOTOVIDEO NETWORK AND HOPE THEY GO BANKRUPT! THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND I WILL CONTINUE TO DO ANYTHING I CAN TO SPREAD THE WORD OF HOW HORRIBLE THEY ARE!!! Meredith Hollywood, Florida U.S.A. The salesman used the same tactic and even said he was on the way to another house that wanted the same date. We were showed a video and were led to believe that was what we were getting. Not true. We were told after the wedding that if we wanted it edited there would be additional fees and we would have to go to NJ (we live on Long Island) between 10-3 Mon- Fri to do it. Aren't they the professionals? What do we know about editing. After the wedding they totally changed their attitude. They tried to make us sound like fools that we assumed we were getting a professional video. On the contract they checked off the box stating "camera edit" but if I want my video I had to sign a release to receive an "unedited video". When I called they said it was the same thing. They are a shady company. Too bad we paid them $900 to do what any guest could have for free. Thankfully we used a different photographer who was straight up and honest. Their sales person used pressue tactics-eventually we signed. I think they target the brides cos they did exactly that to me and when i refused to cave in they called my husband and he still didnt give in so they decided to do their own thing with our contract-now i've handled them over to BBB and hope everything will be resolved From: Message Author (click here to email author) (has asked not to receive email) Date: Thursday, 07-Feb-08 13:32:56 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
