Sears Service Center, Tucson, AZ
I bought six appliances at Sears. First complaint: They wanted to charge
me a $50 delivery charge since it is their policy to deliver four appliances
at no charge. Appliance five and six would cost me $50.00
Complaint two: Need a water conditioner under warranty fixed. They
scheduled a repair service for one week from the call. Got a call from the
service center at 4 P.M. telling me that the repair person could not come to
my home that day since he was backed up. Would I like to schedule in one
week (no other option was offered). One week later I called at 4 P.M. to
find out if we were on the schedule. We were assured that he would be
there. At 7 P.M. we called again and reminded him the water conditioner was
outside the house and it was dark. Was told that the service person was on
call #9 (approximately 30 miles from our house) and we were the next one on
the list. Never saw the repair person and no call was ever made. Called
the following day and the call center told me that he could come out the
following week. I said I want a supervisor. Supervisor scheduled an
appointment for three days. She wanted to schedule me for the afternoon and
I refused since I had been "blown off" two weeks in a row.
The repair person came out and said I needed a part (which I knew). His
option was he could mail me the part in three days and I could install it at
my own risk or he would be back in TWO weeks. I asked what would happen if
my refrigerator broke down. He said "who told you to move so far out of
town". I live in a subdivision and am surrounded by homes and new
developments.
Wrote a two page to corporate wanting an extended warrantee on all my
appliances due to the poor service given to me. I also pointed out if you
do not want to come to my area more than once a week, the salesperson
selling me the product should let me know that before selling me the all
those appliances.
Got a call from corporate and she said that she will get her business
partner on the phone to help me with compensation. Waited two minutes on
hold and hung up. Two days later got another call from someone at corporate
who let me know that they were considered about my complaint and would take
it under advisement. No offer for compensation was made.
