AAA credit card services


My husband & I received a bill stating that we owed a late fee in January, as the bill payment was received by the company 1 day late, due to the Gerald Ford funeral being made a bank & federal postal holiday. We asked that the late fee be waived & Tiffany agreed to this. It was not, as we saw on the next month’s bill: an additional late fee & an overlimit fee were also added. When we called to ask why, we were told it was because we did not pay the late fee as part of the minimum payment due. The overlimit fee was also necessary, per the company, because we were now over our credit limit, despite our pointing out that the late fees & finance charges made the account so. We finally got AAA to credit the 2 late fees & the overlimit fee on 2/27 & we confirmed the amount of payment due with Amanda, & paid that amount by 3/15 (the due date was 3/17). We then did a payoff of the account, as we were not pleased with the extra fees, & the “us vs. them” mentality when they did not believe us that we had called & what was said to us when we called. Imagine my shock, after paying off thousands of dollars, to get a bill NOT with a zero balance, but with a new late fee & $167.00 in finance charges. I called that day (today) & they were very rude, all 3 people I spoke to, denied EVER saying the payment amount was what they had quoted; that, despite having the “courtesy” of fees waived, we still owed the full minimum due & because that amount was not paid & despite an 8 thousand plus dollar payment made by the bank which verified the balance due, & the payment was received just days later, we still owed money! Three different people WOULD NOT budge! They only counted the number of fees waived, not the fact that folks there lied, gave misinformation, stated it was our word against theirs, we should read the information on our account, & pay the money. After all, we had spent the money from the AAA account. Much sarcasm & rudeness, no accountability for wrong, misinformed customer “service” reps. When finally asked what was the full amount owed to close the account forever, the woman wanted to know how soon I could get the payment out, as there is a DAILY finance charge, which I would still owe even after paying the full balance due, have already done that once by the way, & would owe finance charge on the remaining balance due, etc., etc. UNBELEIVABLE!
