ML Direct / Online brokerage ML Direct customer service is terrible. I closed my brokerage account this year. I subsequently moved. I never received my tax form from Merrill Lynch though. Since I closed the account, my password no longer works. I can't login anymore. I called customer support. I was told that I could not have the form mailed to my new address without going through my branch. I told them I was an online customer and had never had a branch. Then I was told that I needed to call ML Direct directly. I was given the number I just called to call again. I told this to the person and then was routed to a new person. The new person received my request again, took my information, and then put me on hold, whereupon, I sat for five minutes before being told by a Merrill Lynch recording.
