As usual. all I get is a bunch of totally unrelated advertisement for things I'm not interested in.

My FREE surprise gift card which I reveived in the mail addressed to a "preferred subscriber" is again totally useless.

Do not enter on Google or Yahoo but when you have your internet browser on go to file, open, and type in www.rd.ca/surprise. That will take you to the web-site where you will find you have a free book edition (you pay the postage) and you have to cancel or they keep sending you books forever! It's free - almost - but there are always strings!

i agree with all the complaints i've read on this site. got card, NO GIFT! I like the readers digest magazine, and i do not need free offers to continue with the magazine subscription, however free offers that are not really free offers are enough to make me reconsider my subscription. It would be a lot less frustrating to buy a magazine at the store when it has subject matter of interest. all this paper wasted on these offers and contests are not in the best interest of our living green. I am not very happy with readers digest and it does bring me some comfort to know i am not the only one. Perhaps a group cancellation would help show them the seriousness of these practices.

I agree with all the complaints - - Why do you send out cards saying you have a Free surprise if you have no intention of giving one! I find it very deceitful and it gives your company a very bad name!!

HI, I RECEIVED A CARD SAYING - A FREE SURPRISE GIFT IS WAITING FOR YOU WORTH $20.00 OR MORE, NOW WHEN I WENT TO WWW.RD.CA/SURPRISE, I ENDED UP IN THE COMPLAINT SITE, NOW THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENS, IF THIS IS A SCAM, IT IS A NICE WAY TO LOSE CUSTOMERS,I HAVE BEEN SUBSCRIBED TO READERS DIGEST FOR A FEW YEARS & IT MAKES ME WONDER IF THE SWEEPSTAKE IS FOR REAL, OR JUST A WAY TO GET OR KEEP CUSTOMERS TO RENEW THEIR SUBSCRIPTION, THIS MAKES ME VERY ANGRY & I DONT TRUST READERS DIGEST ANYMORE, FOR THEY DONT KEEP THEIR WORD & IT IS VERY UNFAIR TO ALL.

I had no problem connecting to the site. My problem was finding anything free. It was a site that allowed you to view sales, things you could purchase, nothing free.

I have been with your magazine for a number of years, plus I have started subscription with other people.

Every time I try these so called contests or free gifts, it never works.

You would think Reader's Digest would be more respectable and makeany of these contests or gift much easier to get at. Thomas Cummings

This is another farce from the RD crew, maybe its time that I cancel my subscription. How Would they like it if I pay for my subscription the same way as their pay out for free gift? Another unhappy RD client.

I totally agree with all these complaints , I am sick to death of Readers Digest marketing techiques. They are totally making asses of their readers by promising a lot of things I, for one , have yet to hear or see anyone receive. Oh yes they have pictures of people receiving things , but actors do all sorts of gigs these days. I , in the past have tried to contact these so called winners & guess what , they dont have phone numbers. I realize a lot of people request their privacy , but in the last 40 years , all of them ??? I question this ! My point is , Readers Digest , quit plugging up my mail box with all your graffiti. cause that is what is is when its just a bunch of blarney !

Thanking you in advance , Connie Buck

Well. I am a subscriber to the Readers Digest Magazine, and they always say that I'm so close to winning lot's of money, but they always try to get me to buy something. If I don't want that something, I won't buy it. I just want to win the money! I hope it's real and not a game!!

And another complaint - it is not appropriate to try to fool your "preferred subscribers" I agree to one complaint I read: BBB needs to be contacted!

I myself had a seeming-related complaint, and am waiting for some response.

I thought meanwhile I would attempt to contact Penny Graham in Camlachie. I located a Mr Graham at 519/869-6308 who told me Penny Graham WAS his wife, but she is deceased

Am looking forward to a response from either Readers' Digest or Complaints.com. Readers' Digest regarding MY complaint - !

i received a card from you telling to log on to www.rd.ca/surprise and a free surprise gift is waiting for you worth more than $20. I can't find the free surprise gift waiting for me. What's up? Sounds like others are having the same trouble. Should this be reported to the Better Business Bureau? Please respond.

Thank you.
