Consumer Complaint

Consumer Complaint Good morning, I just spoke to Beatrice, a Sterns & Foster representative at that manufacturing company. I purchased a new Sterns & Foster "firm" kingsize bed set, in December '06, shipped it to my new home in Hawaii and began sleeping in it mid-January, '07. The "new" bed sags/sinks in so much that I wake up every morning with terrible back pain. This is happening in less than three months of use! The Sterns & Foster folks claim that warrantee only covers 1.5" of sag with no one on the bed. However, when I'm on the bed, the sag is greater than 4" making it impossible to sleep, especially when lying on my stomach. I purchased a Sterns & Foster "firm" mattress because I believed it to be a reliable company. Shipping from one state to another has made it financially unfeasable now, with shipping costs, to return the bed to the place of purchase, which seems to be Sterns & Foster's only solution. I believe that they, as manufacturers should be responsible for their disappointingly inferior product. This has never happened to me before with any new bed/mattress purchase, and incidentally, I am 6 feet and weigh 185, so it is not as if I am obesese and abusing their mattress. I'm frustrataed and disappointed that Sterns & Foster is refusing to help and won't replace the bed. Will you kindly advise me as to what should be my next plan of action. For now, Sterns & Foster is sending me a warrantee form. Meanwhile, my back continues to ache, and this bed "newness" time continues to tick. Thank you, Robert Reish
