Maytag Refrigerator Ice Maker Door On March 9th I placed a call to A&E to have the ice maker door on my Maytag Wide By Side refrigerator repaired. To my surprise they said a tech would be here the next morning between 8 and 12. About 12:30 the tech called and said he was on his way. At 1 PM he showed up and temporarily repaired the problem. He also ordered the part, told me that it should arrive within the week and rescheduled for March 16th between 8 and 12.
At 4:00 PM on March 16th, I finally called A&E because the tech had not arrived. I was asked for my phone number so that they could track the order and they told me they had no record of that number. After checking the slip the tech had given me I realized he had taken the wrong phone number off the warranty information that he had asked me for. The tech had just called me at the correct number within that same hour. The appointment was rescheduled for March 20th.
The morning of March 20th I waited for the tech again. This time I got a phone call from the customer service department asking me if I still needed to have the refrigerator repaired. When I told her yes, she wanted to check status and put me on hold. After about 5 minutes of waiting, I was disconnected. When she did not call me back, I called A&E. I was told they would not be here today, they had overbooked, and there was not a tech available to work on a Maytag refrigerator.
Wish me luck - it's still not fixed.
