On Feb28th called ADT Corp # advertised on T.V..

Made an appt for salesman to come out and confirm

promotion was correct! Explained that we purchased our

home 10 years ago and it came with the house and

system was from another company. This was not a

problem. Also explained this system never worked! I

asked the lady on the PHONE THEN INSTALL NEW SYSTEM

WAS 99.00 WITH A SIGNED CONTRACT FOR MONTHLY SERVICE

BETWEEN $34.00 - $37.00 A MONTH! YES! Great! I want

to make an appt. ( Explained to her my teenaged son

kept sneaking out and we needed a security system

ASAP!)

Adt Salesman came out Feb. 28th AT 7p.m. We showed

him the existing system. Saw that it did not work. He

was told by my husband that the wires were pulled out

in the attic by Direct T.V. when they installed

service in 1999. We left the keypads there so we

didn't have a hole in the wall. We left the box with

all the wires alone. We went over same information

about current system! Not in working condition! None

of this was a problem new system would be installed

with 1 keypad in the kitchen where the old keypad was

installed. He showed us a similar keypad that would be

installed. I explained that we had a few years ago had

someone from ADT out and because of the 3 year

agreement we decided at that time it was not a

priority. Now that we are desperate need of a system

we feel $37.99 was worth our sanity and our sleep. Not

knowing when our son was going to be brought home by

the police again at 15. This is not cool.We will pay

the service agreement.

Now when will they install?

Advertised on T.v.. Also added the service of a smoke

detector for $99.00. Our contract for standard mon

svc. w/ extended warranty was going to cost $37.00 a

month. The salesman said payment when the system

installed was how it worked or on a credit card. I had

explained that I had just reported my cc missing so I

called and cancelled at the bank. I wrote a check for

payment dated for the date of installation. March 8th,

2007. When we signed the contract salesman will call

the order in and call us that evening to confirm

installation date. Wonderful. Sale Complete! Except

he never called. I called him the next day to confirm.

He explained that the time was uncertain explained I

needed time either in early A.M. @ 8:00 or after 3P.M.



March 7th, 2007 received a call fom Gail at ADT with

confirmation of install. Man should be there at 8:00

A.M..


March 8th, 2007 Rick no show at 8:00, 9:00 or even

10:00. Ring on the door at 10:15. I made the comment

to him I was expecting him at 8 A.M. He made the

comment "They didn't call you?" No.I explained the

reason for the early time was so he would be done by

12:00. They said it would take a few hours. If they

would have called I would have rescheduled because of

the time for installation. As he entered our home I

explained to him that he undrstood the system in our

home was not in working condition.He understood. He

then asked where the key pad was at in the kitchen. I

showed him. I explained to him that the preschool

children go down for nap at 12:45. I Wanted to know

how much noise was there really going to be. He would

do the best he could. He went to work I went back to

my classroom.


At approx. 12:00 he asked to speak to me and show

me something. I went into our bedrrom and he had the

old system all torn apart. He was standing on a ladder

in my attic and proceded to explain to me "This system

was not wired correctly." "He said the wiring was a

Rats nest", and the wire was cut in the attic and it

went to nowhere." "there was no phone line run to the

unit." I said to him after he finished. I know this.

What do you think I told you , your salesman, and Gail

who scheduled this appt. This was a joke! After he

said The salesman didn't know what he was talking

about." I immediately thought this company was a DROP

THE BUCK BUSINESS! He then explained "I have already

informed my boss of this mess and installation would

take 4-5 hours. I explained Chris our salesman had

already informed us of the time for insatllation. He

then said, "My boss will call you this afternoon with

a time to reschedule." I have to be at another appt.

by 12:15.


When he left, I called my salesman and of course

let him know I was unhappy! He then calls me back and

tells me for the system to be installed it would be an

additional $200.00 and he would give us 2 months of

free monthly service. I don't want two months of free

service. I just asked him to install my system for the

$99.00 installation promotion. This went back and

forth. Then he said to me "That was on a already

installed system." I then got more frustrated because

now I am no closer to getting this system installed.

He then said he would call me back to schedule appt.

Couple of days go by. No phone call. Sunday night he

calls us back at 8:45 P.M. and lets us know the appt.

will be for Monday morning. I then asked is this for

$99.00 insatllation. He said no. $200.00. This went

back and forth again. I then asked to speak to his

supervisor I was done dealing with him. That this

could not be the way this highly recommended company

would do business. I spoke to the supervisor. He

basicly could have cared a less. His attitude was take

it or leave it. The installation supervisor felt this

was my problem. Basicly they gave me the impression oh

well. I then called Corp. HDQRTS for ADT and they told

me on the phone, Installation of new system was

$99.00. I asked them the difference between a Dealer

for ADT and Corp.. They said, Dealers can offer Free

because they don't offer a warranty. Okay. I called

Chris my salesman. I explained Now, I have received a

flyer in the mail for Free service installation of a

wireless system. He asked from a Dealer or Corp. This

was from a dealer. He said they can offer free because

They don't warrant the lifetime warranty and parts &

Labor Like they do. They also offer bonded employees

with background screened employees. Dealers can just

send any insstaller to your house. They may not know

who their employees or subcontracotrs are. Well I

could see this was a going no where situation and

became more frustrated with all this. I called this

dealer and he said, "I needed to receive a document

stating I was releived from this contract." When I

explained to him this situation. He was in shock. He

said the customer service was a bad representation for

ADT. He also commented on the fact that I did not once

hide the fact our system did not work. He Quoted me

this price for installation. That the salesman should

stand behind the promotion. The company in the long

run would make the difference with the contract. The

salesman did not see it that way. I then called Pete

the supervisor and asked what was going on with our

installation? He then said we were scheduled for

install on Thursday the 15th at 8:00 A.M. I asked him

if they were going to honor the Promotion Price? He

said into the existing service, with the 200.00 charge

for labor. I said you know cancel our installation. I

am going to call the news station and the Better

Business Bureau. I felt their service was not Quality.

His attitude. Basicly He didn't care.


On Friday the 16th, I had called my bank and

checked on my new cc I received. I checked on the

check I had written to ADT. I was in shock. They

deposited the check as installed. I was then more

frustrated. I called back to find out why Chris said,

accounting deposited it. How can it go to accounting

when the system has not even been installed. I felt

this whole situation was not right. I asked for this

document of being releived from the contract, Could

take 2 weeks. Return of funds, could take 2 weeks. He

would check with accounting. I expected better from

such a high repitable company. I now know the

adverisement is a fraud.


Please contact me and let me know of receiving this

email. I want to make sure this doesn't happen to

anyone else.
