Gold's Gym Membership

Gold’s Gym Aiken SC. Failure to fulfill contract on operating hours and facilities available.

Retreat area hours, delays in pool construction, retreat area steam room maintenance.

I joined the gym before the construction to the retreat area was complete and I very explicit that I required a steam room and a pool as part of the membership with the steam room available 24/7. At that time I was informed that the retreat area would be available 24/7 and both the pool and retreat area would be completed during first quarter 2006. the pool was still not available at my last - ever - visit to this gym. During renovation to the main gym the retreat area was available 24/7. Now the retreat area has hours that are significantly shorter (closing around 10PM). I informed the desk that I was not happy with these hours and I should call the corporate office. My calls to the corporate office went un-returned. I requested cancellation of my membership, in writing, due to Gold’s Gym not fulfilling the agreed verbal contract of the availability of the retreat area, the uncompleted pool, Brocken steam room and sauna on my last visit. This request was denied in writing and all calls to the office have gone unheard – again. I am extraordinarily unhappy with this gym’s available hours, poor customer service and refusal to try to find a solution to this problem.

I want my contract cancelled and I do not want to be billed ever again.
