Electronics Express --bad radio install and ruining of electrical system in car Electronics Express (Rivergate), Nashville, TN Date March 2,2007 I had a radio installed at Electronics Express in Nashville TN. It was nothing fancy, just a regular radio. They said that it did not something was wrong and they needed to "hard wire" it onto the battery. I was taking a trip and thought that it would be fine until I got back, I just needed to remember to turn the radio off when I got out of the car. Not long after I left the store, the radio wouldn't work, so I called Electronics Express back and they sent me to another store, where another installer was waiting. He supposedly fixed the problem. (What I learned later is that he only compounded the problem). Well, on my way out of town I only got to Manchester before the car died. I got a jump and was trying to get back to Nashville when I just had to pull over because it was dark. That's when a policeman in Lavergne stopped to help me and noticed that the wire coming from the radio was wrapped around my tierod, and had been against my exhaust and had melted. This had caused the fuse to blow. When I took it to the other installer he had put bigger fuses in my car, which eventually just made the whole elecrical system go. The cost to me was $49 for bad installation, $545.00 car repair, and $60.00 in car rental. I have contacted them many times and they are not willing to do anything. I will be filing a civil suit against them. WHATEVER you do, do not get Electronics Express to install your radio!
