Dish network

Dish network My complaint with Dish Network is with the information this company advises customers who are moving.
Dish Network customers speak to an call center agent when calling the toll free number to disconnect service. The information that I received was in error and my concern is that Dish Network condones the misinformation in order to charge customers unrealistic amounts for their equipment. I was told by this agent (Nina) that because I had been with Dish Network for three years that they wanted to continue doing business with me. I did not have a new address at the time I spoke with agent Nina so she advised me to put my account on hold for 6 months and I could call Dish Network within that time period to reconnect at my new address. Agent Nina advised me to move the equipment with me. Two months later, I was charged $549.00 for the equipment.
Okay, so I think there has been some mistake. I call the toll free number at this time and I am told that agent Nina had given me erroneous information. I tell the agent that I will get the equipment back to them but the agent tells me that there is a lengthy process I must now go through to send the equipment back to Dish Network. I must now wait at minimum 10 business days to receive boxes from their company to ship the equipment back. I must then wait additional time for Dish Network to receive the equipment. Then I must wait an additional 30 day processing time to receive a refund for the equipment. All in all, approximately two months to receive the money charged to my account.
I think Dish Network encourages their agents to tell customers to keep their equipment during a move so that Dish can gain control of customer.
Why, you ask, would I make such a claim? Because everytime I attempt to contact someone at Dish Network I do not get a satisfactory response. I am told by their agents (and I've spoken to several) that my records indicate that Nina had indeed told me the information stated above BUT the current agents have no control of the information Nina gave me. The current agents can do nothing except follow through on the lengthy return process above AND there is no one else that I can speak to regarding Dish Networks unauthorized charge to my account. I was told that I could e-mail my complaint to the customer service department on the Dish Network website. I immediately sent that e-mail but I did not receive a response.
I have allowed Dish Network to con me into letting them sit on my $549.00 for two months. I wonder how many other customers have fallen into the same trap I have! Imagine how much interest Dish Network is making on customer money that has been taken by there agents providing false information?
