On February 16, 2007 friday, my family and dog had a flight from JFK to West Palm Beach airport in Florida. The flight number 35 at 7:45pm was changed numerous times and by 3:30am while at the airport this whole time our flight was cancelled. Up until 3am the airline continued to tell us the flight was going to take off. However, family at home on the computer said the flight was showing cancelled for about an hour. We were lied to continually. No reason for the cancellation! They then refused to give us our luggage. Than when we said my husband had his cardiac meds in the suitcase they said they would let us get our meds than we had to leave the luggage!!!!! Furious we refused to leave without our bags...Three hours later they let us into the baggage claim area which was TOTALLY disorderly from the numerous cancellation of flights from the ice storm on wed valentines day.....The reason for our cancellation was that they had no crew...........As we searched for our bags the people were coming in at 4 am for a 630 am flight that WAS taking off....they had no seats for us. They said they would deliver our luggage by next tuesday. I said that was unacceptable as our medication was in the bags. Needless to say by 7am we search the thousands of bags to find out our bags were in Florida. I called my parents in Fla and they picked the bags up on Sat and brought them to their house. We were at the airport for 13 hours. We spoke to a supervisor and told them we had to drive to florida to get our bags. she told us she would work on paying for the car. At 9 am we got home and slept until 3pm. Searched and found a car and drove with 2 kids and a dog (mind you never was able to leave to go to the bathroom for 13 hours and was given Benadryl 2 times because we were told we would leave!!!!!) We left at 6pm from new york and arrived at 3pm sunday. It was also my kids only vacation planned and as our parents are in the 80's and it was important for us to go.....The Bill of Rights was all over the news....Well we were told we would hear by March 15.....all we got was a refund for the flight we didn't take. We were promised car and gas and a free round trip ticket for each of us....They are avoiding giving answers like they were that Friday...They said they learned their lesson and yet they are not answering and avoiding calls.....It has been a month and I am sure we are not the only one's waiting for answers. We are tired of being lied too. I am writing to you to try and help us with this issue. When flights were cancelled you exposed Jet Blue and they came up with the Bill of Rights. Well, they are not honoring what they promised and proposed. They still have no answers. The phone lines to the airlines were busy with large volumes of calls.....this is just ridiculous......they ruined our vacation....and thousands of others.....My husband had a heart attack and stroke and open heart surgery. He had NO business driving all night to get us to Florida the next day.....He needed his medication! I can understand if the weather was bad to cancel, but they just picked here and there and decided to cancel flights at random....for no reason!!!!! The personnel had NO answers....they were embarrassed....Please help us.....Susan Koenig 631 254-2407 Email User
