Non-delivery and non-refund of mattress from Mattresses Direct Inc, New York. .

WARNING. I ordered a Pierre Cardin Memory Foam Mattress from Mattresses Direct Inc. (UK site) on 16/08/06. I received a ‘Factory Direct Confirmation of Order’ (USA site) transmitted via Roman Cart. The payment went to Microx.com Pty Ltd Melbourne. When I heard no more I revisited Mattresses Direct Inc. and was told that “There is no tracking information to display for this order”.


 


Telephoning was useless, so I sent a series of 19 emails/faxes to Email User and received four replies from “Wayne” who (1) confirmed that my order was dispatched in the third week of September; (2) in early October, was waiting for the courier to explain why it had not been delivered; (3) later in October, reported that mattress was damaged in transient, had arrived back at the warehouse and a second mattress was being shipped to me immediately; and (4) in November, was organizing a full refund immediately as the model and size was out of stock and a new shipment of stock had yet to arrive. He always sincerely apologised.


 


I received no replies to my subsequent series of emails or to letters addressed to Mattresses Direct Inc. at 244 5th Avenue, Suite B-289, New York and at 2770 W Atlantic Drive, Suite 2434, Pompano Beach, Florida. In January 2007, I contacted my credit card company and was given a full refund. My credit card company, by that time, had not been refunded by Mattresses Direct Inc.. BEWARE!
