sprint pcs / what a rip off, scamming, no good company! Sprint pcs should be sued and put out of business! I used tracfone for many years without any problems. Their reception seemed to work everywhere and i never experienced any drop calls.I decided to buy my mother a cell phone for Christmas. The downside was buying the time in advance, which was very expensive, and didn't want my mom to have to invest that much money in a phone that was a Christmas gift. So i went to radio shack and saw an advertisement , offering sprint pcs phones with plans that made my tracfone seem like a big hole i was throwing good money in. So i bought a sprint pcs phone, and on Christmas, gave it to my mother as a gift. She was excited and right away called sprint and set up a plan. So for the next 4 days i tried to get her on her phone, and all i got was pieces of garbled conversations i could not even understand. I lived in a town 50 miles from her and after 4 days i went to her house and she told me she couldn't make any calls from that phone. So i myself tried and came to the realization that this phone was a piece of raw sewage, and promptly returned it to radio shack, which they had no problem refunding the amount paid. They then informed me that sprint offered 14 days in which a new customer could cancel their agreement with sprint with out any charges. COOL.! my mother told me to wait to get her another phone as she was checking into centennial and other local cell phone companies. So 2 weeks went bye and i found out another brother was going to get my mother a cell from his company, which was local. Then a month later my mom called me to ask what this 287.00 bill from sprint was for??? what the ....! So i drove the 50 miles to her house and looked at this bill, which listed a bunch of calls my mom supposedly made in the 4 days she was in possession of that phone, when i wouldn't even work??? My mom then informed me she had already paid the 90 dollar bill she got 2 weeks prior from sprint, that i didn't even know about!! When i asked her why she paid it, she said she thought she had to pay it or it would go on her credit report and possibly cause problems in the future, if she didn't. At that point, i called sprint to ask what the heck was going on, and they told me there was a mistake and she could disregard the 287.00 bill and throw it away. When i asked about the previous 90.00 bill she had paid 2 weeks ago, they told me that was also a mistake, BUT SINCE SHE HAD ALREADY PAID IT, AND DID NOT CONTEST IT, THEY COULD NOT REFUND THAT AMOUNT!!! what a sweet Christmas present ,huh!! So i argued with them for a few minutes until they hung up on me. 90.00 for 4 days of totally unusable service i guess is what keeps that low life thieving company in business. Then after a few years i decided myself that i needed a cell phone that would cost less then tracfone, as i used it more and more every day. So i went to another radio shack store in my town and found a what i thought was a nice phone. The store clerk bragged to me how good sprint service was and went through all the different plans they offered and i finally decided on this plan i thought would fit my needs. This plan offered free unlimited Internet access, 600 minutes of talk time, free time after 9 pm to 7 am, all for 45 something dollars. HOORAY I THOUGHT. So as my credit wasn't bad, but not good (non existent), i had to pay a fee of 120.00 to get the service working, which i was told would be refunded to me after so much time had passed, if i paid my monthly bills without any problems.(120.00 or 150.00) Anyway, the year went bye without a hitch, and as i was in the lost luggage delivery service working during the 10 pm and on hours(all night long), and had to drive to the middle of nowhere sometimes that there were no maps for, and find people in the middle of the night, the Internet part of the plan came in real handy. Then i decided to get my self involved with a real computer and went out and bought one, which i was able to print out maps to every destination before i left, which really made my job alot easier. So the year passed without a problem, and 3 weeks after my contract with sprint pcs expired, i called them as i didn't know what i needed to do to keep my phone service in effect. I was worried it might get cut off or something. ( like what landlords now days do with rental contracts) They told me they could get me a BETTER DEAL, as i was a good customer with them , and said if i renewed my contract, they would also add in 200 minutes, my free time would start at 7 pm, instead of 9pm, weekend would be free, and everything i had before would be carried over to the new plan, IF I SIGNED UP FOR A 2 YEAR AGREEMENT! And the cost would be something like in the 60 dollar range. I thought that was a good thing so i agreed to it, and for the next year of my 2 yr. contract, i used my phone mostly during the free time and weekend, used my Internet service , though not as much as i has a normal desktop computer, and my bill seemed higher than what they said, but as i was always driving or sleeping, i just paid the amount it said i owed. In the course of my business, i made alot of calls and tracking each and every call would have been mind bending. Then someone told me about yahoo messenger, which i put on my computer , and found i could also put on my cell phone. Real cool, now i could get ims when i was on the road!! That's when it seemed i was always paying alot more, and as months went by, i found i was spending 150.00 plus on my new con-tract a month???And i noticed on my regular computer that even when my cell was off, it said i was online with my Mobil yahoo on my cell?? So i called sprint to see what the heck was going on again, and the really nice lady who took my call looked back into my records and DISCOVERED SOME IDIOT AT SPRINT HAD SET MY INTERNET TO THE "PAY BY THE BYTE PLAN " INSTEAD OF THE FREE UNLIMITED INTERNET ACCESS I HAD WHEN I SIGNED UP WITH THEM???? she apologized up and down to me, and told me she was going to correct the problem and refund the over paid amount to my bill, which at that point, would have gave me an 80.00 credit. I was real happy that the company who had already ripped off my mother was going to make it right with me. Five minutes later she came back to the phone, and apologized again to me??? When i asked why, she told me her supervisor had said they COULD NOT REFUND THE OVERCHARGE BECAUSE I had not CAUGHT IT IN 60 DAYS???? I guess there's some kind of rule that if you don't catch them ripping you off in so much time, its to d-- bad??? She then said she was very frustrated with the company because i was a good customer and refunding the overcharge was the correct thing to do. She then also said, and i quote, " I WOULDN'T BLAME YOU IF YOU CANCELED YOUR SERVICE WITH THIS COMPANY". It didn't take me the time it takes a fly to shake a turd off his a-- to respond with a "TURN ME OFF NOW , which this lady did. I was so upset i went out and put this phone under my rear tire of my van, and ran it over repeatedly until i thought it was thoroughly flattened (only to find it had just got pushed into the snow layered in the drive) and still worked.
then 2 weeks later i get a bill from this unscrupulous ripoff company asking for my balance due, PLUS A EARLY DISCONNECTION FEE!!! yeah right!!! I called them back and told them to make it right and i would continue to keep my service and forget this act of dishonesty. They pretty much told me to go to h----, and if i didn't pay the bill i would probably be in court, on my credit record etc. They can go ahead and take me to court because i refuse to do ANY BUSINESS with a dishonest conniving lowlife company, WHO EVER YOU ARE!!! That was 3 years ago, and I've received numerous bills which my shredder was happy to make use of. And just recently i was contacted by a bill collection agency who i called back, and was told they had "bought that account from sprint for collections". I then informed them as to the circumstances involving that bill, and also told them they should look into the reasons before they buy these past due accounts, because sprint would never see a hairy red dime from me EVER!!! And when i tried to go to another cell phone company, i was turned down because of the mess at sprint, which forced me to go back to tracfone again, which once again I've never had any problem with as far as dropped calls, bad reception etc, which i cant say for sprint because i was always "searching for a signal " with worthless pos phones. I should have stuck with tracfone and i wish i never had made the mistake of entering into any agreement with a company i already had experience with that i knew was crooked as heck!( concerning my mom).
I hadn't planned on dropping sprint, even though their service severely lacked, but as i already stated, " do not do any business with a crooked company", especially one that tries to rip ME OFF. And i don't care what the fine print says. TO SPRINT I SAY AS IN THE WORDS OF A SHOW CURRENTLY ON TELEVISION , CALLED " THE APPRENTICE"

I was looking to see if anybody else was being treated the same as I am from Sprint. They call EVERY NIGHT for collections and customer service tells me it's taken care of...then more calls and bills. I only had the phone for a week and I couldn't call my husband who works in the same plant as I do! I was pregnant and it was just ridiculaous what they are doing. Since CS didn't record the cancellation call, I am responsible for a months worth of charges. I told thm to check the call records and see that we did not use the phones after I called to cancel. They apologize but say the charges are legit. I refuse to pay these and turned them in to the BBB. Someone has to stop these people.
