Braun Coffee Carafe Turnpike Appliance DBA SmallAppliance.com I quote my complaint to the BBB (6/5/07); "received product destroyed* by USPS in transit. Same day I sent email (6/2) and called vendor (6/4) to resolve. Advised by Turnpike Appliance personnel that it is company policy that I cannot even talk to customer service until a minimum of 24-48 hours has transpired. Today (6/6) again a my expense, I called since they had not returned my call within 48 hours . Customer service does NOT have a toll free number. Their toll free number is for sales ONLY. They advised to return package for their inspection. Returned package to USPS today (6/6) unopened. All this over a $20. glass coffee carafe. Not wanting to wait any longer, ordered item from another vendor. Informed Turnpike Appliance to credit my account. Still shipping cost and long distance telephone charges (on hold for about 5 minutes each call) are out of my pocket; they're probably more than the price of carafe! NB Packaging inadequate and there was no indication on the parcel that it was fragile or contained glass. *box crushed and shards of glass leaking through cracks.
