Bank of America Complaint

Bank of America Complaint Bank of America is a corrupt organization:
After a few years of being a Bank of America customer, I have had no choice but to close my account. They couple poor customer service with semi-illegal business practices to create a very unscrupulous banking institution.
Routinely, they hold my pay checks for several days without reason in attempt to overdraft my checking account to force me to pay high fees. I live pay check to pay check like many Americans, and I cannot afford to wait for four or five business days for my funds to become available to me.
I have called customer service and customer relations usually twice a month in an attempt to figure out why the bank chooses to hold my funds. I get different answers each time. Essentially, I deposit my pay checks at the same time every month. And consistently each month, Bank of America holds the funds for nearly five days without reason. Again, as someone who depends on my paycheck to live, this is unacceptable. The paycheck clears the account from which paycheck is cashed the same business day I deposit the check. The cash is not deposited to my checking account - again- for nearly five days after that. Other co-workers of mine have not had these problems with their paychecks at other, more reputable banking institutions, so apparently the issue does not lie in the source of the funds (i.e. my employer From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 05-Jun-07 12:07:48 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisThe bank just debited our account almost a million dollars without explanation. When we try to call them or speak to someone at the bank they just give you a number to call who then answers no questions and is rude. They essentially tied up $3,000 of our money with no end in site because they wont remove their debit that they created and it continues to say pending. this is a shameful bank who will take your money any way they can. I have reported them to the BBB and our state attorney general for deceitful business practices...can you imagine how many people they are screwing! You have a right to change your accounts, be notified properly of fee changes, not have your account debited against your desire! Start making your complaints known to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). The FTC is what the federal government has set up to ensure organizations work with consumers properly. Learn the regulations from A to Z! Don't write to the Federal Reserve Board! They are not the 'Federal Government!' The Federal Reserve Board is comprised of those who have ownership of the bank! Its like fighting against yourself! The outcome is null! Most importantly we are not the minority as consumers but the majority! If we don't give them our dollars then they won't be in business! Enough complaints to the FTC could possibly rule in heavy fines and fees from the OCC Office of Currency Controller (Fed Gov too)! Last, you always have your Senator and Representatives. Just because they are in office at the present does not mean enough people in an area cannot gather together to create a special election to remove these people! They are after all working for us (the people)!
